Trump DOJ Crosses The Rubicon With Investigation Of The Investigators

Originally published at: Trump DOJ Crosses The Rubicon With Investigation Of The Investigators - TPM – Talking Points Memo

On her first day as attorney general, Pam Bondi launched an investigation of the Biden-era investigators of President Donald Trump that will report its progress directly to the White House. It’s a crossing the Rubicon moment for DOJ independence that is compounded by the fact that Trump has made Stephen Miller the point person on…

I’m totally down with this. I realize it’s easy for me to say this, as it’s not my life that is about to be turned upside down, but I hope Jack Smith demands a trial. His defense is the cases against Trump. This may be the only way they ever get out into the light of day.

FWIW, Bondi is a dim bulb, and she’s probably hiring even dimmer bulbs to do Fat Nixon’s dirty work.

When is the press going to start laying out that by electing Trump to a second term what those voters voted for is a CEO of United States of America, INC. And because Trump is CEO all power flows from him. All departments, all agencies, all federal workers work for him.

And how much does this personally cost a decent man who was just doing his job? Fucking trump and his first lady Elonia need to be stripped of all their assets to make these good and decent people whole again. And Trump needs to be given a blindfold and put against a wall. Any sane country would have already done it. If you don’t have the stomach for that, then you’re just asking to be on the other end of it.

Remind people in every news segment - hey YOU voted for this. Over and over and over because most Americans are dumber than a box of hair.

“ Bondi said attorneys working on cases do not have the “latitude to substitute personal political views or judgments for those that prevailed in this election,” saying that doing so “undermines the constitutional order and deprives the president of the benefit of his lawyers.””

In a sane world this would be disqualifying for an AG, and even in this world should be grounds for impeachment.

I’m old enough to remember when a 15 minute conversation on the tarmac at LAX was grounds for outrage.

We knew Bondi didn’t ‘care’ about the law when she took the money from Trump and ran while in Florida. She is bought and paid for. And NOW trying to deny money to sanctuary cities??? Be careful Pammy…be very very careful. These are donor states.

Turns out democracy was a sop, meant to protect the rich from accountability, via the intercession of God, a buff white granddad with great hair.

Investigate [ harass, intimidate] the investigators:

Why are we not shocked to see her do this?
Immediate retribution is one more play right out of the autocrat playbook.
OK, so it’s not Hitler’s “night of the long knives,” but it’s the counterpart to that event: Neutralize those who might form elements of opposition.

And that right there is why I’ve spent decades nearly blowing a fuse every time someone says “We need a businessman in the White House.” Government is supposed to be about the common good, not fucking profit.

Trump is not a businessman and 6 bankruptcies prove this.
He is a immature child who plays with other folks lives, his toys, simply because he has enough money from his father to fuck up anyone or any country.
Now we have what at one time in their lives were Americans are now on the Trump Train to hell.

But he played one on TV. Close enough for government work. Apparently.

The reports will be submitted to Pee Wee German?

I’m glad the list of targets (not really glad) includes Bragg and James. They will have the resources of their offices to fight this and will likely be very public about it, especially Leticia James. She is no shrinking violet.
I fully expect DOJ to back off after first contact with these two.

As for Smith, I think the guy can handle this and I hope he will get the help he needs.

Sadly a lot. But in the end we know what the final outcome will be.

The last time these bast*rds tried this was the FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. Within 5 days his Go-Fund-Me account raised over $500,000. The Grand Jury assign to indict him laughed the DOJ out of the Courtroom. And we know how it finally turned out.

What respectable grand jury will approve charges against Smith? This shit got canned five years ago. The same will happen again.
