Trump Dodges Question On Origins Of His Ukraine Conspiracy Theory

When asked on Christmas what Russian President Vladimir Putin might have said to convince him that Ukraine, and not Russia, interfered in the 2016 election, President Donald Trump lashed out and dodged away.

Ali Velshi, sitting in for Rachel Maddow last night, featured a story dealing with ongoing efforts to secure our elections. Senator Blumenthal from CT was interviewed in this story as well. It was quite interesting.

And it was the kind of story which Trump would not be pleased with.

Maybe one of his Baby Sitters let him in on as much as they could tell him.

Sounds like the heat in the kitchen is getting to him. What a pathetic Putin tool and lying, traitorous sack of shit Trump is. I still have a hard time accepting that this excrescence is President of the United States.

Call it what you will it’s been a very successful real time revisionism of 2016. Maybe the media will pick up on the obvious and stop buying into “I didn’t rob that bank the bank robbed me” crap from Trumpers. Until then history will be written by Trump.

I’m not so downbeat about this. Latest poll shows 55% of Americans want him impeached and removed. I think what he is is beginning to catch up with him.

I don’t think the polls this year are any better than those in 2015 /2016.

It isn’t a “theory”. It’s a contrived story.

I understand your point. I have to be hopeful to preserve my sanity.

It’s also a good sign that reporters are asking him these kinds of questions rather than just lobbing softballs.

I agree.

The story upthread that I mentioned has a term called “Cyber Command”

The story had a photo of a very impressive person in Military garb. And Blumenthal’s area is what the piece is talking about

Spooks don’t have to tell you a damned thing.

Suppose Trump doesn’t have a complete handle on the cheat he’s planning for Fall 2020?

What is striking to me is that Trump did not make sense. I don’t mean that he’s wrong–that’s transparent–but his words do not really relate to the subject at hand. And it’s growing steadily worse.

It’s past time for Democrats (and responsible people who are not Democrats) to be pointing out that Trump is several cards short of a full deck. He should be thrown out of office for that alone. Yes, mental deterioration is a reason to remove a president, by impeachment, the 25th or defeat at the polls.

I propose a game here. Every time the orange one goes into Queeg-ian territory the first one to type “STRAWBERRIES!” wins the round.

The 30% has never changed the time I have been alive.

They have been given a voice and have been emboldened by the most effective demagogue the United States has ever produced.
