It’s an issue! I’ve been thinking about it, and I don’t think the current state of the news represents a bias in the newspaper against Trump, inertia, an inability to grasp reality, or any of those things. I think it’s much worse. I think none of these organizations want to actually report the news because they want to keep their audience.
There is so much competition for our attention, and so little margin in the news business, that they don’t want to do anything to risk losing more viewers/readers. The result? They are losing viewers/readers.
It’s an issue.

Esper seems to have forgotten that Trump already knew this. His rapid-fire firings were explicitly a search for willing accomplices. Loyalty was always his first litmus test.
Better late than never, I guess. But wow, dumbass went through the blender himself and apparently didn’t recognize it.
I’m not saying Trump isn’t more dangerous this time:

That’s the key. Trump knows that becoming the official figurehead grants you the legitimacy that comes from being others’ vehicle to power. Last time around he only had real losers around him, because that was his world and who he could draw. Now he can draw on Heritage and the whole die-hard, grim-as-death far-right christofascist movement that has been building siege machines for decades to tear down the wall between church and state so they can plant their cross on an American king’s crown.

It might be as simple as this: if they show the truth and Trump wins, he will come after them. On the other hand, it is always safe to come after the Dems, because they actually believe in a free press and won’t come after you. So heads Repugs win, tails Dems lose.

Had the Media actually reported about tRump as he actually is for the past 10 years ago, maybe, just maybe he wouldn’t have become the Leviathan they allowed to be.
Nobody gets this dangerous if you don’t hold them accountable. If you continually ignore the facts and sane-wash him as they always do, this is the logical place where we end up, full stop.
A pivotal interview I remember seeing of him was during the Birthergate era where he was interviewed and he said he was hiring investigators to look into Obama’s birth certificate in Hawaii and the interviewer did absolutely no push back on him. This was 2011/2012!
The Media failed us long long time ago.

Did that last week and two days later got an Email that said your ballot has been received and counted.
Now all those flyers in the mail (for down ballot votes) are even more wasted money.
