Well we can be as well. Delusional in our resistance and waiting this out, finding the places where we can make it better and changing the outcome in the long run. That is not a bad delusion to have when declaring all is for naught brings nothing to the table.

Many women and women of color, too, concluded the same thing based on our lived experiences (on this site, too) and got shot down by… well, you know who. IMO, the Dem pundits and political operatives, and those who hang on their every word, need to get out of their bubbles and spend some time sitting at bars and beauty salons and listen to what non-bubble, non-$100k per year voters really think.

Oh yes. I see. I am not talking about censoring anything, but when college students are raising hell on campuses of fancy expensive colleges, it is not always necessary for Democrats to support them. I read that 27% of the country supported protestors. Some of them were very obnoxious and antisemitic and while I despise Bibi, I did not feel compelled to support them. And I voted Democrat . Imagine how the Independent might react to them.

The one thing I would poke at for the moment is Texas. It may not have won the day, but Harris and Walz giving Texas serious time beyond the metros might have had an effect in at least appearance and reputation, even beyond the state. Trump spent a lot of time in the rural areas to the point he had exclusivity.

I would agree. We just need to be careful not to adopt the other side’s framing without checking for the bad faith. I know I need to step back sometimes to check what I’m missing (I don’t always get that right.)

Most people eat when they’re upset. I’m just the opposite. I have no appetite at all. Gonna be a rough 4 years. I’m just shellshocked at the outcome. In hind site it almost would have been better for Biden to stay in and lose. At least it wouldn’t have been as much of a shock.

Carville is past his sell by date. But Dems. desperately need a James Carville type for today’s America; one who knows how ordinary folks think, and we need one right now so we can get to work on 2026.
I will say this again, Dems. have missed the boat on the trans athletes in women’s spaces issue by a mile. Trump rode this into the ground in the final weeks and Dems had no effective response. It was crickets. Dems. just stick our heads in the sand and pretend that only a tiny fraction of people care about this issue (as if half the country weren’t someone’s daughter at one time or another). The only time I heard the issue addressed was last night on msnbc when someone talked about the huge amount of money Trump put into those ads. This issues moves ordinary voters and will move them for a long, long time if we don’t come up with an effective message. But Dem operatives just don’t get it. They are clueless.
