Trump Coughs Up $2 Million To Settle Charges Over His Scammy Foundation | Talking Points Memo

Who were the charities that he scammed? I don’t see their names listed anywhere.

It would be a good measure of his character to see who he considers to be a mark.

these damages speak to the president’s abuse of power

A phrase much in the news these days.

Yet the POP (Party of Putin) is all in with this con man.

Anyone who has a wad of bills is a mark for this criminal. Unless,of course, you are a certain white house intern…

That, of course, and also he is The. World’s. Worst. Negotiator.

Which foreign power ACTUALLY paid this $2 Million via a SuperPAC or direct donation to Trump Inc.?

My choice: Saudi Arabia

Which foreign power just showed up today at the white house? Russian foreign minister Lavrov.

You want massive protests? The best way to get that is to give the orange fascist immunity.

Most was the $1.8 million in the Foundation accounts that he hadn’t had a chance to grift. Only $250,000 comes from Trump himself. I think he got off easy. If I recall, he used at least that much of the Foundation’s funds to pay personal expenses, including the purchase of his portrait and the settlement if a lawsuit involving Mar a Lago. I wonder if he agreed to say he did a bad thing in exchange for a lower settlement. It’s remarkable that he conceded wrongdoing - he never does that. But the spin is on already, I am sure.

Wherever it came from, it sure as hell wasn’t out of Trump’s pocket.

Another misleading headline. Trump’s foundation paid for $1.8m in money left in its accounts. Trump only “coughed up” $250,000,which I think is less then he stole.

Exactly – Nancy is the Vote-Counting Jedi – she would never proceed without the votes.

I do like this list of groups he’s being forced to give money to.

The list of nonprofits that the judge approved to receive Trump’s $2 million include the Army Emergency Relief, Children’s Aid Society, City Meals-on-Wheels, Give an Hour, Martha’s Table, United Negro College Fund, United Way of Capital Area and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.

We need Steyer or Bloomberg to buy hundreds of millions of dollars of ads right now to flood WI, PA, and MI airwaves, and social media, with a hard-hitting ad about stealing from charities. The script writes itself. Amazing that it hasn’t happened.

According to the article the $1.8 million in the Foundation’s bank account was in addition to Trump paying $250,000 to eight charities ($2 million). It’s still a lightweight slap on the wrist. If Trump were really worth $10 billion, and assuming a 5% annual return, the $2 million is less than two days return on investment.

$250,000 is 10,000 maga hats * 8 charities = 80,000 maga hats. I am sure some tRump sycophants have already put in their orders… after all they got their tax cut so it’s no big deal

How much do you want to bet that Trump etal will PROCLAIM FROM THE WH how much he gave to charity this year…and use his presidential salary (the part that was going to charity ANYWAY) as the settlement for this? He is a greedy, grifting SOB who never thinks he’ll get caught so he just keeps on stealing…
