President Trump congratulated Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on Sunday for his projected win in the Nevada caucuses.
Of course Trump wants Bernie. Bernie is another George McGovern or Michael Dukakis.
More importantly, Bernie should be running as the Green Party candidate. Heâs not a Democrat.
Well thatâs a testimonial â of sorts.
Whatâs the deal with this headline? Why isnât it âSANDERS WINS NEVADAâ
Why make it about Trump?
You mean itâs not?
I spent a lot of yesterday and last evening in a funk about Nevada, and how we are pissing away 2020 and all that will entail. The idea of Sanders as the nominee and the scathing, withering, relentless attacks that we can expect from the right, have me curled up in the fetal position as I shudder at what will come with another four years of Trump.
But this morning I have been doing a little recalculating. Many of us think that Bernie is crazy and brings little to our effort to win the Senate, especially via places like Arizona, but he has a cultish, frenzied group of followers who will vote for him if it takes their last ounce of strength to do so. That brings it to the mainstream, center-left Democrats, and when faced with, as the GOPers called it in 2016 when it was HRC vs Mangolini, a âbinary choice,â then 99 percent of us will vote for Sanders. We recognize that GInsburg is not going to live forever, that the Mango has all but flipped the 9th circuit court that he once bitched about treating him âvery unfairly,â and that he literally is a threat to our system of government and our way of life. I also was thinking that we have our share of crazy, rural, old white people too, and they like Bernie just as they like Trumpâsee the 2016 Michigan Democratic Primary. In fact, to them, Bernie and Trump are similar creaturesâdisruptorsâand they like it because the message of grievance that Bernie and Trumpy share is something they believe is relevant to them. That THEY donât benefit from all these systems that are in place. That their money is going to THOSE people. Code for black and brown mostly.
My point is, maybe our old rural white people are the equivalent of the Dixiecrats of old, and if they join with the Latinos, who seem to support Bernie, and the A-A population, which seems to be warming to Bernie, then that is a winning coalition.
Just saying. And then there is this out this morningâŚ
All we can be sure of is that as of today, Bernie has the lead in delegates. And slightly less surely, there will be an election in November and someone will win.
Canât make up my mind as to who is the most nauseous,Todd or Matthews.Right now Matthews is winning that title.

Not only was that incredibly offensive, it was downright stupid. He should be fired for it.
Sanders personally knew King Leopold III of Belgium.
âHe should be fired for it.â
Thats the message that MSNBC is getting.
Letâs start by saying Trump is an ignorant buffoon in orange make-up with no sense of strategic planning.
There will be those who will want to claim that Trump is saying this because heâs really trying to make it look like heâs not afraid of Bernie and believes he will be easy to beat. And there will be people who claim that his genuinely afraid of Bernie and figures the stain of a Trump endorsement will push people to vote for someone else that he believes will be easier to beat.
My claim is that Trump is an ignorant buffoon and a serial liar. Everything he says and does is based on the narcissistic belief that he needs to say something - anything. Seen through the lens of Trumpian Projection, this is a statement about his own âbeing treated fairlyâ issues. It has next to nothing to do with who wins the election. He genuinely has to believes he can beat them all because heâs Donald Trump. He can afford to appear magnanimous, if it ultimately goes to making him feel good about himself and he can get the media to talk about him.
I mean, regardless of your opinion of Bernie, the notion that someone advocating for universal healthcare and fair wages is akin to a Nazi, is just unbelievable. I know he didnât mean that, but if heâs too stupid to think of a better comparison, then he should be gone.
Apparently, Chris and Tom Brokaw may have been instrumental in getting Kieth Olbermann fired. So having him fired might be a kind of delayed justice.
And now for some good news, deepstate offs it self
Itâs Bernieâs âBroskriegâ.
Indeed. His propensities are becoming quite noticeable of late.
Hillaryâs been at it again.
