Trump Conflates Patriotism And Nationalism With His ‘America First’ Agenda. But One Is Really A Betrayal Of The Other

What better way to celebrate the 4th of July than with an spontaneous display of freedom and patriotism…

In an electrifying speech to honor the Athenian war dead in the first year of the grueling Peloponnesian War against Sparta, the Athenian leader Pericles said, “Our form of government is called a democracy because its administration is in the hands, not of a few, but of the whole people. In the settling of private disputes, everyone is equal before the law. Election to public office is made on the basis of ability, not on the basis of membership to a particular class. No man is kept out of public office by the obscurity of his social standing because of his poverty, as long as he wishes to be of service to the state. And not only in our public life are we free and open, but a sense of freedom regulates our day-to-day life with each other.”

No chance. He would lose his 24/7 lifetime Secret Service protection, which is something money can’t buy. It’s not just physical protection, it’s a status symbol. This provision of the Former Presidents Act might even keep him out of prison if he’s convicted in the more serious DOJ trials, although he could still be incarcerated in a Fed safehouse somewhere.

That’s the main reason I think he’d never scamper, but he probably has other reasons, like believing he could win in 2024 and self-pardon. Or the juries will acquit him. Or he’ll win the appeals on conviction and SCOTUS will save his sorry ass.

Quite the opposite. The puffiness under the eyes is from straining to push out a week-old brick. See the same thing in all the Hitler pics.

The very notion of “conflation” is so over the heads of trumpians.
Try explaining this essay to one of them for some reality-testing.

Wouldn’t it be funny if he did scamper off, and no one cared. That killing him, or attempting to kill was considered “he’s just not worth it”?

So wouldn’t that be lumbered off? I can’t see him slither, he’s too rotund.

All human beings are created equal.

They are each endowed by their creator with inalienable rights.

It’s the challenge of America to reflect those simple truths.

And hope to discover the rights within ourselves.

Jimi knew the sound of rockets and bombs bursting in air – He was 101st Airborne, ARMY, the Screaming Eagle (Old Abe.) May he be resting in peace and silence.

This isn’t something an innocent person would do or say.

If Trump is following his usual precedent, he didn’t pay the photographer. If the person was a woman, he likely tried to grope her. Saying that about most people would be a gratuitous insult. Claiming that about Trump is just recognizing his basic nature and history.

It was my privilege to pound nails in the Woodstock stage 2 days before it all happened By the time Jimi played a lot of folks had left due to the rain, lack of sleep and just too much fun. I heard him play that magical set.
