I was at the Great Minnesota Get-Together most of the day today.
I saw, on my notifications that the House passed a CR, or something, that will keep us and them from coping with a government shutdown for the midterms.
I don’t think I missed much of anything else.

Brendan Carr graduated with a JD in 2005 from Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law. Apparently they don’t teach the First Amendment at the Columbus School of Law. By the way if you research his background you learn that he is contributor to the Federalist Society’s contribution to Project 2025. No doubt he is bucking for a appointment to the Supreme Court.

So here’s my gloom and doom hypothetical: Trump knows he’s trashed the GOP brand and he’s term-limited. What’s a cornered rat to do? He goes forward with his attack on mail voting, sends ICE to the polls etc. Even though Dems still win, he moves to void the election, claiming space aliens rigged the voting machines or whatever idiotic thing the NYT will dutifully repeat. Essentially he will kill the US system of govt. in November. Court cases will be filed, they will take years to be decided by the Scumbag 6. And they will do whatever they need to do to ensure the democracy that Trump killed stays dead.
Do I think that’s the most likely scenario? Probably not. But don’t forget: That fucker’s already tried to overthrow our government once; there’s no reason to think he’s not ready and eager to have another go.

Thank god. And Markey is creaming Moulton. AP was able to call the race with less than 4% of the vote counted. My rep, Richard Neal, seems to be batting back Jeromie Whalen, a young progressive. Nothing against Whalen, but I’m glad about that. Whalen can run again in two years. Roath seems to be giving Stephen Lynch a run for his money. Roath would be a HUGE improvement over Lynch.
