"Be Best Failure!"
The attorneys would not let the FBI look at boxes in the storage room right before issuing the certification. I wouldn’t risk my license making that certification if I didn’t know what was in each box, particularly if my client was TFG.
Kushner’s attorney’s spokesman said it was ‘false’ that the president’s son-in-law passed on secrets and that he was ‘well aware of the rules’
My father-in-law declassified all the secrets I passed on to MBS before I passed on the secrets he declassified. And this has nothing to do with the $2 billion Saudi investment in my start up private equity firm for which I have no experience or expertise.
It seems odd, but it happens all the time with larger organizations. A records search might involve 20 people who report their findings to the official custodian, who then testifies in court. Mistakes happen, and they aren’t always made directly by the custodian.
Of course, here we are talking about a few dozen boxes of files that one person could easily have looked through before responding. If Bobb wasn’t encouraged or allowed to do it herself, she should have have seen this coming.
As they say, “If you look around the poker table and don’t see the mark… it’s you.”
[Edited for another stupid typo]
I am sorry, but that is not how lawyering works. Bobb signed the document certifying that the search was complete. The signature is a legal declaration under penalty of perjury. The possibility that she may have mistakenly relied on Corcoran is no defense at all. If she was not confident of the diligence of the search, she should not have signed the letter.
Bobb might be dumb enough to believe that “I relied on what Trump and Corcoran told me was true” is an acceptable defense.
I welcome the DOJ to give her a thorough education on the topic.
I’m giving up on keeping my running list of lawyers who face sanctions or disbarment as a result of having worked with or for Trump.
OTOH, they may start removing themselves from the existing list by virtue of death or debilitating injury, since they seem to be arranging themselves into the proverbial circular firing squad. By the time they finish their exercise, it’s entirely possible there will be only one left to face disbarment.
An operative for a pro-Russia propaganda TV channel who moonlighted for the Trump campaign, obstructed federal agents executing a search warrant seeking classified documents, and collaborated with election deniers who compromised and infiltrated election systems in order to undermine confidence in American election systems?
I suspect Jared was actively involved in choosing at least some of the documents for Trump to steal.
a “diligent search” for records marked classified at Mar-a-Lago
Hey! She checked the mailbox daily as she fetched the newspaper, give the girl a break. /s
The best part, to me, is that it implicates Trump’s attorneys in the entire fscking crime; all of it. That solves a whole lot of attorney-client privilege claims, right there.
To sucessfully prosecute for making a false statement, the government has to prove that it was made at least “knowingly.” (See 18 USC 1001) It’s not enough to make a false statement, you have to know it’s false.
Her statement says she made the representations in it in reliance on information given to her by others. If she can show that she was misled by those “others” that will probably defeat the government’s attempt to prove the necessary mental state.
Will she have to specify who the ‘others’ were?
She was a “reporter for OAN” while she was Trump’s lawyer.
Not exactly a person who appears to have a strong ethical compass.
I suspect that “custodian of records” comes with certain responsibilities. Was Bobb informed of those responsibilities? If so, did she violate them?
Of course, rules and procedures were written on the presumption of an administration that had both some basic competence and concern about the good of the country.
Did she serve in the WH? She was a Marine Corps JAG, which either implies some level of skill and/or intelligence or good connections. She’s got a pile of degrees, too, for whatever that is worth.
Christina G. Bobb | Trump Town | ProPublica
As someone who is encountered more than one Liberty University educated lawyers in the flesh, I can tell you that those places graduate some Grade A Imbeciles. Bobb is an interesting one, to be sure.
The sort of gal that rises like a rocket in the ranks of Trumpworld.
Just guessing on my part but blue states are going to be very blue this year.
If she wants to get to the courthouse first, yes, she will name others. (And this is presuming she’s even charged with anything. We’re treating that as a fait accompli.)
(This sow ain’t going to jail. We should disavow ourselves of the fantasy that federal jails are going to be brimming with Scumbag’s legal team.)
