Trump Asks Federal Judge To Please Stop NY AG Investigation | Talking Points Memo

Though I think your point is correct, it raises a deep conundrum for journalists – this is news, and does need reporting. You can’t simply ignore it. So what the heck do you do?

I am confident that Trump did not pay Summer Zervos. I have known one of the lawyers representing her, and that was not the statement of a lawyer whose client had gotten paid. She quit, probably in no small part because it was a weak defamation case and she was staring at anti-SLAPP fee shifting liability.

E. Jean Carroll’s case is also pretty weak. It’s going to be hard to win damages for injury to your reputation when you go public with the allegation that Trump raped you and the defamation is he says he didn’t.

Alina Habba is also representing this TFG-nincompoop:

Joining former President Donald Trump’s class-action lawsuit against Big Tech, reality TV actress Siggy Flicker told Newsmax that companies and leftist ideologues are seeking to destroy America “from within.”

“Americans, don’t take it from a legal immigrant, travel the world and realize this is the greatest country, and they are playing by Saul Alinsky’s playbook,” Flicker, who appeared on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” told Thursday’s “Stinchfield.

“They’re trying to destroy America from within.”

.
And irony continues to be bludgeoned about the head and torso, by TFG and his ridiculous reality-star minions.

Turning over a new leaf, so to speak.

“Former President Donald Trump asked a federal judge on Monday to make New York State Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation into his business practices immediately end.”

Of course he did! How dare anyone investigate Trump for his crimes???! (Merrick Garland)

And for some - like Trump - they view any and all providers of services - (any service) - as essentially servants / rubes who are beneath them and that it is their entitled privilege to just unilaterally decide what they will or will not pay them after the work is done.

The world has lost count of the number of times the haughty asshole has snapped at people who thought they had a firm agreement with him and he has said:

“Do you know who I am ? I will pay or not pay what ever I decide this was worth - and if you want to contest it - you can spend all of your money fighting with my lawyers.”

Maybe he expects one of “his” judges to shut it down, but that tactic hasn’t worked out too well yet in other cases.

Nice one, Josh!

Trump, a daytime television connoisseur…

Enough said… lol

It’s just setting the table for when he invokes the 5th next month, which he’ll say he was forced to do because Tish James is a Democrat and the investigation is a witch hunt. And then she’ll most likely file a civil suit to dissolve the Trump Org.

Another piece of evidence (not that we needed any more) the Trump didn’t invent American Assholery, he just help it get out the closet. And it turns out that the asshole population was quite large, enough to carry an election, so from now on all GOP politicians will be exclusive pandering to the assshole constituency. See DiSantis, Abbot, Cruz and many others.

He’s been dead for 50 years, but still so useful when blaming “Commie Jews” in public might damage your grift.

I just stumbled upon para. 30, in which I learned for the first time that prosecutors need “personal knowledge” of a crime before they can investigate it.

I take it that’s referred to as “litigation face plant” by those in the know.

Personal knowledge is the evidentiary standard for being able to testify as to the facts of a case. Witnesses have to know the facts from having personally experienced them, not having heard about things from their thrice-removed cousin.

Prosecutors are not witnesses. If they hear through the media that dead prostitutes keep getting dumped in a shed out back of Mar-a-Lago, they can investigate those reports.

Trump’s playbook is more like a power point presentation with two bullet points:

  • Bullshit

  • Sue

Looks impressive from a distance … but NO!
old crappy 1960’s worn around-the-edges building - once long ago a corporate HQ … but then broken up into miscellaneous office suites. Actually think these legal wizards are in the some what newer generic brick box building behind this - seen to the left between the fuzzy image & the evergreen trees.
