There’s a certain strain of rich guys – mostly, but not exclusively, inherited wealth – who view lawyers as basically on the same level as plumbers. If you called the plumber and he couldn’t manage to fix your sink, would you still pay him? This is why retainers are important.
I think Trump is also interested in just getting the headline out there. Most people probably don’t read the story just see the headline. Most still assume that if one sues, there must be a real reason for it. If Trump gets a good headline, it is a win for him regardless about the facts or truth. When will the media get this?
Let’s put a finer “point” on it: Anyone who is not in the actual act of fellating him is a political opponent, while those that are so engaged are his slave-du-jour.
There’s always another plumber, just like there’s always another lawyer. And then one day, you find yourself with the strip mall lawyer down the road from your New Jersey golf course and the dude with an office over a Lebanese restaurant.
Every single word that fat Hitler utters is projection.
In case anyone missed it, Trump used the power of the government to punish a critic - personally. We have descended into fucking Banana Republic territory. Maddow reported last week that Michael Cohen was released from prison early in 2020 to serve the remainder of his sentence in home confinement because of Covid, like a lot of other nonviolent offenders. But in retaliation for the book he’d written Fat Hitler had even fatter Bill Barr put Cohen back in prison until a federal judge got hold of the case and released Cohen.
To all those who keep insisting that “it can’t happen here.” Wake the fuck up. It already has and it will get much, much worse unless we fight much harder.
You mean the same guy who refused to call off his goons from the capitol, then insisted it was BLM and antifa who were doing it? As stupid as trump is, he knows when to keep his fat mouth shut.
If I was a corporate/country club-type Gooper donor, I’d be pissed as hell that my money was being spent this way. But I’m not, so sure RNC, go ahead and flush good money after bad down the toilet.
Yes, of course, especially back in the day when Treasury found that his NJ casinos were laundering money. Chickensh•t Federal prosecutors took a fine and called it a win. Lazy scared prosecutors.
See Jesse Eisinger’s book: THE CHICKENSH•T CLUB.
But it’s…god I can hardly say this without breaking up…it’s a federal § 1983 action alleging violation of the 14th, 1st and 4th Amendments on the grounds that Democratic elected officials aren’t allowed to sue him and should be enjoined!
I’m not seeing any one in her two-partner, one associate, two “Of Counsel” firm with any civil rights experience so evidently, no one there to tell her “That’s not how this works! That’s not how any of this works!”
