Not a coincidence, similarity of the phrases is a contributor to the conflation of the meanings.

Heh. The TPM team “corrected” me on just this phrase several years ago. Apparently, the two very similar expressions have totally different meanings and derivations. Who knew?!

I taught in a medical school and did a lot of medical research in my lab. When publishing our work it was always incumbent that if our work was based on that of others (very common in science) That we make sure it is pointed out and give credit where it was due. I guess this old habit is still with me.
And as an added attraction I found this doctored image but it’s still more than appropriate given the over-the-top and public illegalities trump engages is. It’s an appropriate gesture even though photoshopped somehow…

Fair enough, but I can’t trace it much past Mario Puzo’s dialog from the movie and there’s lot of evidence he just made up a lot of the “mafia lingo” for his characters so wouldn’t call that definitive, given that the “original” expression has been around for decades.
Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time Hollywood defined a subculture. Apparently, lots of ganster wannabes started talking like Jimmy Cagney in the '30s and '40s - those dirty rats!

Well, I was in my post office today and I asked the guys if they could see an intentional slow down, politically speaking. They weren’t willing to go that far right now. They did say that before there was maybe 100 planes flying around, now there are only like 10. (In Colorado.) Crazy things like parcels get checked into Portland but are meant to be delivered in Denver. They attributed it to the slow down in the country, in general, due to covid. I’ll ask again next week. Hmmm.

They have always used the ‘one box’ approach. In Hamilton County 4 years ago, we tried early voting, and discovered that for the entire city, you could only vote early at the BOE. As long as the Repukes hold power in this state you will get the voter suppression treatment. Meanwhile, they could easily have voter drop boxes located in every city hall. They could be easily located right next to the numerous and plentiful drop off boxes now provided for local income and property taxes.

Have they carted away your county recorder’s office yet. Cuz taking ballots personally ought to be an option.

IANAL, so could someone shed a bit of light on this for me?
Because to me, as good as this all may seem on the surface, the last bit (item #4) seems to imply that the judge doesn’t find the campaign’s arguments or positions lacking, just missing appropriate documentary support? Given this, how should we expect it will play out if the plaintiffs are unable to provide all the ordered documents?

And to make sure we all know Trump The Terrible is serious about “misplacing” all those Democratic votes, mail workers in Oregon have been posting cell videos of mail sorting machines and convenience mail boxes inside post offices being dismantled and carted off to who knows where.
Impeach Trump again. Make sure posterity knows that someone cared about democracy before Republicans tried so hard to end it.
Ben Franklin was onto Trump even before he was born and insisted that a United States Post Office be preserved within the body of the Constitution.
