Drop in mailboxes are a real threat to Trump’s vote-challenge strategy because they will not have a USPS post mark but will still be in the board of election’s possession by election day.
In 1,267 days, President Trump has
made 20,055 false or misleading claims
This was last updated July 9, 2020, so the count has probably topped 21,000 by now.
Not yet.
FFS, “go to the mattresses” means to lay low and hide for a while.
Trump’s district court judges have been a mixed bag. I have known two of them. One is a person of great intelligence and integrity who I would be happy to get assigned to. The other is a sloppy hack.
They really only sweat the obsequious fealty for the appellate judges.
ETA: Actually, come to think of it, I also appeared before several former state court judges who Trump appointed and got confirmed to federal district court seats. They were all fine.
Judge of south Asian heritage. This comes a day after Trump raises citizenship questions about Kamala Harris. Does Ranjan now get the Gonzalo Curiel treatment?
Here’s the evidence.
For years, U.S. election officials and voting machine vendors have insisted that critical election systems are never connected to the internet and therefore can’t be hacked.
But a group of election security experts have found what they believe to be nearly three dozen backend election systems in 10 states connected to the internet over the last year, including some in critical swing states. These include systems in nine Wisconsin counties, in four Michigan counties, and in seven Florida counties—all states that are perennial battlegrounds in presidential elections.
Some of the systems have been online for a year and possibly longer. Some of them disappeared from the internet after the researchers notified an information-sharing group for election officials last year. But at least 19 of the systems, including one in Florida’s Miami-Dade County, were still connected to the internet this week, the researchers told Motherboard.
A film about electronic voting technology

This film was instrumental in New York State adopting paper ballot optical scan
I guess they could point to GOP operatives committing voter fraud, but I imaging the response will be something like “there’s no proof because it works. That’s why we know!”
This turned out not to be true. After telling me it had never installed remote-access software, it later admitted it had been installing the software on systems for at least six years. https://t.co/qjOomy3X3X

This is actually a pretty big deal, although I suspect we’ll get more obfuscation and delay from the Trump campaign’s lawyers so that they can maintain the claim as an ongoing matter without actually putting up any real evidence. Mostly, they will get their lackey “experts” to write affidavits that they unspecified “research” indicates that all of Trump’s allegations could be issues of ballot security, then use other unspecified and undocumented assertions that because there could be case of vote fraud then there are a massive number of cases of vote fraud like this in Pennsylvania which just haven’t been identified yet.
I’m not sure discovery orders are appealable, but if the judge dismisses the claim when they don’t produce any evidence to support their assertions, they will appeal that ruling and on it will go, the whole time Trump claiming that it’s an open issue but he is, of course, 100% right. This is what happens when a political party has no shame.
Here is the actual petition the Trump campaign filed to disenfranchise American citizen voters in eastern Iowa. The link below shows the filing by the Campaign. Cedar Rapids just got hit with a storm that damaged 9 of 10 homes. The cleanup will last until December. Power is expected to be out for a week. I hope that in light of all, that the court rules on behalf of voters.
Votes from predominantly black precincts have mysteriously vanished from touchscreen voting machines in both Tennessee and Georgia in recent elections. Georgia replaced the touchscreen system it had been using since 2002 with yet another controversial touchscreen system, rejecting the advice of most election security experts, who note that hand-marked paper ballots are less vulnerable to both tampering and error. A political battle is now raging in Shelby County — Tennessee’s most populous county — over whether it will follow in Georgia’s footsteps or switch to hand-marked paper ballots for the general election in November.
Shelby County is approximately 54 percent African American, a demographic that has traditionally overwhelmingly favored Democrats. But the county election commission is led by Republicans, due, in part, to state law that gives control to the party that controls the state legislature.
The loss of black votes from touchscreen voting machines in Shelby County was discovered by election commissioner Bennie Smith, a Democrat, in 2015. The debate over a new voting system has led to a knock-down, drag-out fight, pitting Smith and election security reformers against Republican election administrator Linda Phillips and other election commissioners (three Republicans and one Democrat) who recently voted to buy controversial new touchscreen voting machines called “ballot-marking devices” (BMDs) for use by most voters at the polls.
Technically, that’s election fraud (eg. when McCrae Dowless altered or destroyed thousands of ballots in NC-09).
Knox County TN just got new paper ballot/scanner voting equipment to replace the outdated and hackable electronic machines.
The new system was much less expensive, and provides a clear paper trail.
Sure they are.
Here’s the evidence! George Soros will Reanimate the Dead!!!
I thought it was a reference to war between mafia gangs, i.e. the “soldiers” are holed up up in an undisclosed location (sleeping on mattresses.)
I thought it was either a wrestling or a boxing metaphor - the mattresses being the ring.
