In remarks to the media on Sunday, President Trump made it clear he will continue to use the assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk as grounds to investigate those he sees as his political foes. In fact, he suggested, that work is already underway. “The problem is on the left — if you look at…
As much as I hate Trump, a post-Trump Vance administration with Stephen Miller in charge would be about as fun as a bath in battery acid.
From the statements of the president and the vice president:
“The problem is on the left — if you look at the problem, the problem is on the left. It’s not on the right like some people like to say. The problem we have is on the left,” he told reporters Sunday. “And when you look at the agitators, you look at the scum…”
Real Americans, those Republicans.
Maybe this is a political move that our president learned from his friend at the summit in Alaska.
They really know what this country was created for… and how to make America great again. /s
“Almost everything I see is from the left wing, not from the right wing,” said Trump … the extremist group Proud Boys celebrated what some of its members saw as tacit approval.”
The CR would reportedly not include any Democratic demands, including extending the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced premium tax credits.
The Dems have to stay together on this and stand against it. If the Right is going to paint us as terrorists, we should at least be able to find the backbone to stand up to the true terrorists.
When in hell is the media going to stop pushing the lie that the left are the ones fomenting the violence? There’s little to no evidence of truth to this, but the right is consistently supported by silence in the media when they go on about this.
I am sure that he would be happy to arrange that.
Convicted felon will be sending National Guard to Memphis. The announcement:
The move to establish a “Memphis Safe Task Force” will mirror the stepped-up law enforcement effort that the federal government oversaw in Washington, DC.
So we’ll see National Guard picking up garbage in Memphis and helping landscapers spread mulch.
Where is the Democratic Messaging? They are impotent in this moment. I heard a great slogan that the Dems should use: Trump’s tariff tax; republicans recession. Leadership is so weak and we need to primary Schumer, Gillibrand and Jeffries. Please, oh please.
Both House and Senate Democratic leadership have said they will not vote for a CR that does not include health care provisions.
Support No Kings Shut Down.
Stephen Miller is already largely in charge. In charge of the Justice Dept. and the FBI, DHS and ICE, and who really knows what else. Whiskey Pete’s texts showed us the Miller was the pretty much the final sign-off on the Houthi attacks. He’s here, he’s there, he’s every-fucking-where.
We don’t own or control any media outlets. That’s all there is to it.
Up is down. Weekly chocolate ration increased from 30 to 20 grams.
If Trump and Vance want to “investigate” their political foes, they need only to speak to a little (or perhaps a lot) more than half of the people they encounter in any gathering that is not a political event organized and populated solely by their minions. I mean, we’re right here. I’ll tell them to their faces that I can’t stand them and will take–and have taken–every opportunity to vote against them. Only Kash Patel could mess up this “investigation”, which is why I hope they will place him in charge of it.
Schumer and Jeffries are once again doing their “sternly worded letter” shtick.
Joe McCarthy would be so proud of these dorks and dufuses.
Objectively political violence is almost exclusively in the domain of, or adjacent to, an identifiable right-wing worldview, nihilism or nuttery; e.g., None of the last 31 political attacks was by anyone from ‘the Left’. Not one. We can count them
But this has nothing to do with facts, it’s about dominance and reinforcing a specific set of legends, a mythos that further unites the in-group and provides the basis for oppressing out-groups.
Complain and you could lose your job but make no mistake, loyalty oaths enforced by employers themselves are coming soon.
Notice how redundant, how grossly repetitive trump has become?
"The problem is on the left — if you look at the problem, the problem is on the left. It’s not on the right like some people like to say. The problem we have is on the left,” he told reporters Sunday. “And when you look at the agitators, you look at the scum that speak so badly of our country, the American flag burnings all over the place, that’s the left, that’s not the right.”
“They’re already under investigation. They’re already under major investigation,” Trump continued. “A lot of the people that you would traditionally say are on the left — already under investigation.”
He’s a motormouth, he can’t ever stop talking for a moment – but the brain cells don’t seem to be working to produce new content anymore.
Moreover, I don’t recall any “flag burnings” in the last 50 years. Lots of flag mutilations, putting on “Trump lines” and “police lines.” Burnings? Hardly.
Is that where most Americans get their news-like content? Hardly. Democrats can go after social media presence. Interviews on popular podcasts. Email and text blasts to the Folks Back in the District. Hey! Town meetings! Not every appearance needs to have “national” broadcast.
Democrats need to continue to get creative. I know, it’s hard. But necessary.
It sounds like they’re planning to go after the organizers of non-violent protests like No Kings, et al.
'Miller took things in a uniquely sinister direction. He announced that there would soon be a formal effort by the federal government to begin rooting out what he claimed was a “domestic terror movement” in the U.S. He said that it would all be done in Kirk’s name.
" With God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, eliminate and destroy this network and make America safe again for the American people,” he said.'*
Melodramatic little creep, isn’t he? And he’s watched Gone With the Wind way too many times, doubtless to raise his spirits in preparation for the South to rise again. …
And he identiies with Scarlett, of course: “As God is my witness, they’re not going to lick me.I’m going to live through this, and when it’s all over I’ll never be hungry again!”
Miller probably goes around the White House muttering that under his breath.
