President Trump piled onto his ongoing tear against Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Tuesday morning by baselessly claiming that Americans will be forced to learn Chinese if the former VP wins the election.
Sounds intellectually stimulating. Will there be a trip to the Hidden City, the Great Wall, and the Terracotta Army? Are Xi and Biden outsourcing to the “Great Courses” and Viking Cruise Lines (after the vaccine.)?
“Look, China will own the United States if this election is lost by Donald Trump,” Trump said. “If I don’t win the election, China will own the United States.”
Meanwhile people in China: “Yeah our system has problems, but I trust my classmates who took the civil service exam to make those decisions a lot more than I trust the billionaires who run the US—sucks to be you! Gotta go, headed out to a birthday party in Wuhan!”
(As an aside, one of my all-time favorite statements from a government official is the NTSB accident investigator many years ago, who said “controlled flight into terrain is usually an error on somebody’s part” … usually??!?)
One of the ways you know he’s both stupid and cognitively impaired is that he says the most outrageous things in the most sycophantic interviews: you can tell that he just babbles word-salad, and the more positive the fawning response, the more insane the babbling.
I’m quite certain that he’s always been this way.
He’s a hair’s breadth away from claiming that Covid-19 is an intentional, direct attack on the USA by China.
He’s hinted at it in pressers, saying they want to “get to the bottom of it” and find out how it started. But he hasn’t made the direct claim yet. I think he’ll go there before the campaign is over. Probably soon, because nothing else is working for him.
The President then audaciously claimed, without evidence,
TPM, please do better. “Claimed, without evidence…”? Really? Where’s “completely made shit up”, or “invented in his addled mind”, or “lied through his teeth”…
