If only there were some procedure written into the constitution by which his aides could have him formally evaluated for fitness to discharge his duties, and removed if not, under the supervision and approval of both houses of congress.

Expecting Trump to say something non-inflammatory is the same as expecting the original Fuhrer to have condemned anti-Semitism.

Trump will not follow advisors’ advice because he believes he already IS expressing a unifying message, just for the people he feels comfortable unifying, as indicated in this video from the Lincoln Project:

So now they’re worried the inflammatory rhetoric he’s been slinging for the past eleven plus years will hurt him?
WTF?

" Axios, NBC News, and the New York Times report that Trump’s aides have been urging the President to cool it with the divisive tweets and instead attempt to unify the nation by giving a formal address about Floyd, "

Biden needs to go ahead and pull the trigger on this himself, and give a prime time national speech to the country. Do that tonight, and the election is over.

And who’s going to write that speech? Stephen Miller?

They’re trying to tread a middle path in which he remains president but doesn’t suck so much. I wish them luck. Hey aides! Don’t bite your nails, bite me! I can assure you one thing that draws together all the factions in this divided nation is a strong common desire not to hear Donald go out and mumble through a bunch of overwritten platitudinous hogwash about peace and brotherhood. His minions don’t want it, we normies don’t want it, and that pretty much covers everyone. Just resign already. Go home and think about the choices you’ve made in life, that’s my advice.

See, this is part of the reason I made the comment about commentators on this site who believe this will benefit Rump. The chaos, murder, and white hot hatred only goes but so far for this regime. “Law & order” Americans will only see that the regime is protecting them to the extent that Rump isn’t sending out racially divisive tweets and doing something to calm the country. There’s no benefit to the Rethugs if he’s still doing that. If he really can’t command control of the chaos but still continues to foment insurrection with the idea that it’ll benefit him, it won’t.

In addition, this isn’t 1968 whatever similarities might be in evidence. It just isn’t and so the Rethugs can’t count on the same reaction happening from the populace.

And I haven’t even thrown the coronavirus into the mix…

So very, very often, when this pRezident makes an accusation, he’s actually projecting his own failings and inadequacies.

So I read this:

“Sleep Joe Biden’s people are so Radical Left that they are working to get the Anarchists out of jail, and probably more. Joe doesn’t know anything about it, he is clueless, but they will be the real power, not Joe,” Trump tweeted on Monday morning. “They will be calling the shots! Big tax increases for all, Plus!”

And say “Hmmmm”…

The problem with his aides’ preferred plan to get him to address the nation and strike a “unifying” tone is that at any moment he could start riffing…

“Terrible thing that happened to George Floyd. Just terrible. Of course, maybe he was no angel and maybe that officer was right to restrain him like that. We don’t know. It’s also terrible what the radical left is doing to this officer who was doing his job! If he goes to jail maybe I’ll pardon him. We’ll see!”

Maybe I have been reading too many Tom Joseph tweets, but I really don’t believe that Trump is going to make it to the November election as president. There is clearly something wrong with him physically—whether it’s dementia or drug addiction or a combination of the two—and he has never seemed so weak politically. I wouldn’t bet my life on it, I’ll admit, but my sense is that he is not going to remain in office much longer.

There’s nothing left in the white house cabinet but spineless worms (redundant, I know). But soon they’ll be McCabeing each other, so we’ve got that going for us.

How can 43% of Americans still not see what a vile person, imbecile, lunatic and terrible president he is?!? I don’t get it. Whatever he says, whatever he does, they either deny it, ignore it, rationalize it, never hear about it, or applaud it. I just don’t get it. 10, 20, even 30%, but 43%?

Have the megachurches, NRA, KKK and RWNM really been that effective, and our schools, Dems and legitimate media that ineffective? And the vast majority of these people are whites, most without college degrees or much worldly knowledge and experience. They are mostly white racist country bumpkins who view Walmart and Cracker Barrel as cultural institutions.

What are we going to do with these anchors?
