That or have Obama go out and calm the country and ask for no violence for one night, watch a huge calming that night and let the news report how Obama has more power and clout than Trump.
Watch Trump overreact.

I suggest a tag-team of Obama and Biden
(1) Biden
(2) Obama
(3) Together (with a mask drill)
Who’s going to remove him?
Congress?
The cabinet and Pence?
Death?
no, no, and not likely
Us!
I totally agree with you that there’s a massive void of leadership for Biden to fill however I think the timing would be off. Personally, (just my opinion), I’d prefer him to deliver a national prime time speech to the country closer to the election. I think the opportunity will still be there in September.
And, even with this, Biden still maintains a good lead on Rump most likely through the summer.
The comments Trump is making, his very language, reeks of far right supremacist doctrine. Someone is feeding Trump his language, probably someone outside the White House. That is why they are biting their nails.
There is some skewing of people toward landlines, fixed residences, registered voters…all of which miss some of the people we have been watching react to the murder of George Floyd.
I would also add that we are still on the Defensive with Trump and his Crew.
He was at 57/36 D/A when he pulled his bullshit stunt with the govt. shutdown.
The summer is young.
[Trump’s] tweet was “stupid.”
A Republican speaking about the head of the Republican Party.
Anyone know where this is getting any airtime at all? I can imagine Sinclair broadcasting wants no part of it, regardless of how much they’re paid.
Sadly, even those folks call for the end of the divisive tweets will not air such a speech by Joe. They simply won’t.
How can 43% of Americans still not see what a vile person, imbecile, lunatic and terrible president he is?!? I don’t get it. Whatever he says, whatever he does, they either deny it, ignore it, rationalize it, never hear about it, or applaud it. I just don’t get it. 10, 20, even 30%, but 43%?
May I throw in my 2 cents worth? The 43% consists of the vile, racist country bumpkins PLUS the college educated vile, racist urban dwellers PLUS ultra wealthy traitors to this country who are basically sociopaths PLUS very apathetic people who really don’t care.
Nobody with a conscience wants Trump to address the nation about George Floyd and the violent protests. We want to hear from Biden and Obama, and for Trump to shut up and stop feeding the flames.
Remember Obama’s “A More Perfect Union” speech on race? It was 2008, but it seems like centuries ago.
I suggest Biden make a VP pick NOW, in this suggested mask-wearing, tag team format for the announcement. Unity, racial justice and reconciliation. This announcement would bury Trump in his bunker.
Yeah, I think its far too early to start prognosticating how this plays out in November.
I’ve seen at least one poll done since the protests began that is showing movement in Biden’s favor. But things are still changing on the ground, and polling will lag behind the actual news…it takes awhile for people to digest everything and harden them into definite opinions. Until then, things are pretty fluid.
To me, the big difference between Nixon’s “Law and Order” approach and now, is that Nixon had a plan. THAT is what is reassuring to people during times of chaos. Trump doesn’t, and his tweets are merely increasing the chaos. The story about him going into the bunker, plus the turning off of the lights in the White House are reinforcing…he doesn’t have a plan. All of that against a backdrop of economic collapse and a pandemic where he has shown every step of the way that he doesn’t have a plan, and I don’t think this plays out well for Trump at all.
But we will see.
It’s permissible to broach this (and wait for the inundation of disagreement).
My wife tells me that words have power. So here goes:
Trump is weak on a number of levels and he may well be out of office before Nov.
AND
We will do every thing in our power to vote him out should he stagger to the ballot.
You mean this guy?
I keep thinking he is about to bolt for the chopper.
Good article.
