Welcome to the Monarchy!

His Royal Highness today issued an edict banning brown people from Central America from seeking entry to the realm unless his strict conditions are met.

Meanwhile, back at the Royal Country Club …

“This Rule is a lawful exercise of authority provided by Congress to restrict eligibility for asylum,” Attorney General Bill Barr said in a statement. “The United States is a generous country but is being completely overwhelmed by the burdens associated with apprehending and processing hundreds of thousands of aliens along the southern border.”

I call BULLSHIT. This is the equivalent of the Muslim ban applied to Central Americans.

I think it’s ridiculous to think that people from Nicaragua would have to apply for asylum in Guatemala and Mexico before applying in the US, BUT: This method could fly with people wanting stronger immigration rules. You know, the ones that hate the fact that he puts them in cages but still believe the Dems want open borders.

Perhaps repeating the fact, over and over, that seeking asylum isn’t illegal was starting to break through and change some minds. This is the administration’s attempt not to alleviate condition for asylum seekers, but to render illegal the seeking of asylum, to try to win the argument.

The burden is made so by the concentration camps. That’s a Trumper invention they are now claiming is a bad and expensive idea.

Like the census thing, this is not a rule. It is a proposed rule published in the Federal Register for notice and public comment as part of an APA rule making proceeding. Every lawyer needs to comment explaining why this rule is contrary to law.

If/when its put into place, it will be subject to judicial review under the “arbitrary and capricious or contrary to law” standard.

“The United States is a generous country"

"Acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan said in his statement that the new rule “will reduce the overwhelming burdens on our domestic system.”

I was suggesting this or a stroke in another thread. I know people think it’s cruel to wish this on people, but tRump is not a human, no redeeming qualities, good riddance to bad rubbish.

I assume this is another one of those “I FEEL LIKE I AM DOING SOMETHING, I AM BIG AND POWERFUL, TRUMP THE STRONG” actions. Legally dubious, impossible to implement, and ultimately meaningless except as posturing.

He usually does these when he feels backed into a corner, like a feral dog. Lash, lash, lash… lash so that you convince the tiny, terrified voice in your heart that you are in control. But you can never convince that little voice, Donald. That voice is core to you. It is really all you are, and all you ever have been.

Though of course if they were white they’d let them in in a heartbeat. This isn’t about nationalism, it’s about racism
