I would like to see the entire Trump clan and his cabinet secretaries and undersecretaries and their families, and every Republican senator and house member line and take the shot to demonstrate that it is safe and effective. And then wait for at least a month… and have a trustworthy non-partisan team of doctors/researchers prepare and publish a full report on side-effects.
Oh, and then they could go hang out in the Covid wing of the hospital (unmasked, of course) to show how effective it is.

Of course. Many will. They’ve been offered liability immunity in exchange for it. If they don’t, they’ll be on their own getting sued if their vaccines turn out to have side effects. They’ll all want to jump on the immunity bandwagon now while they can.
That date is less than a month from now. They shouldn’t be starting to build relationships with state and local officials.
Unless they’re Irish. You know. I know you know.
It is literally impossible to have such a vaccine by October; or November or December, for that matter. The last-stage trials are all about 30K-person test groups, all of whom need to be followed to detect any long-term effects. If there is some vaccine out soon it will be with “emergency” approval from FDA and therefore be limited to high-risk individuals. That said, there will be no October vaccine. Or November. That will not keep the unPrecedent from announcing a universal cure, distribution to begin Nov. 4

Two bets I’m making with myself:
. The vaccine will be announced on Trump’s schedule, but the results won’t be published and the doses won’t show up for distribution.
. Trump will never take the thing himself, though it is even odds he’ll lie and say that he did.

Why wont they tell us which vaccine this is and who is manufacturing it? I thought there were a number of different vaccine trials going on and that each vaccine was different in how they treat the disease. If this is the Russian vaccine I am not taking it.
Hasn’t that happened already due to anxiety over this administration?
I hope Trump gets the shot first.
