Trump Admin Faces Questions Over Mid-October Vaccine Distribution Plan | Talking Points Memo

The Trump administration is asking states to have vaccine distribution plans in place by mid-October, stoking fears that the government will rush the release of an unproven COVID-19 vaccine before the election at a risk to public health.

I will not be taking this vaccine unless and until it is thoroughly tested and proven safe and effective. 45’s “wishful thinking” does not make it so.

“It’s gonna be a big, beautiful vaccine! Very, very classy. There’s gonna be so much vaccine, you’ll get sick of it! And I’m gonna make China pay for it all, believe me!”

The big question: What will the GOP state plans be?

  • “herd mentality”
  • it will just disappear
  • pushing the vaccine made with “alien DNA” (Trump supported Dr. Stella Immanuel)

Based on the information coming from the CDC, tentatively my game plan is to continue avoiding crowds for the foreseeable future and anticipate on taking the vaccine sometime around the early Fall of 2021 if it checks all the boxes for safety.

For that matter, if it even exists - there is no guarantee.

If they’re going to “ram through” a politically expedient ‘vaccine’, then I hope they do it immediately. I want to see how many people the so-called vaccine sickens or kills BEFORE election day.

Although, I consider the chances that it’d be a ‘fake vaccine’ anyway are pretty high. 100% placebo? They’ll say, OK no, it doesn’t save everyone, but at least no more than 1 to 2 percent of people are dying from COVID now… oh, wait.

It’s all about making Trump look good just before the election.

And while we’re on that topic… When Low Barr earlier in the year called Ginsburg’s death a potential “October surprise” was he telegraphing something???

When you mix ideology and stupidity plus corruption then the end result will be a vaccine that no one with any sense will take.

JFC, these guys can fuck up a wet dream.

Waitaminnit… now that I think about it, aren’t anti-vaxxers mostly Trumpistanian? How is releasing a vaccine going to help him politically if that’s true? I doubt any serious mainstream voter is going to fall for this hooey.

The plan is for the states to plan and execute this, so when it fails, trump can say, “I take no responsibility! It’s the blue anarcho-states!”

Because they won’t even use the Defense Production act for this.

Because there is no infrastructure.

It’s pretty obvious that Trump is planning to announce something, and trying to make it look like they are riding to the rescue. The real question is if any vaccine maker will go along with this…they say they won’t, but will they bow to Trump and put out some kind of preliminary results that then gives Trump the excuse to put the vaccine out? Or will we get the Russia method, where Trump just arbitrarily announces something? I wouldn’t even be surprised if some company just appears that “has been doing vaccine research in secret” and says they are ready.

Whatever happens, a vaccine next month will not be viable, there just has not been enough time for safety or efficacy to be shown. That should matter, the question is if it will…I’d like to think it will, especially with all the people who will be angry over forcing a quick replacement of RBG.

What I’m worried about is a rushed vaccine that is either not sufficiently tested for safety, or not particularly effective or long lasting.

Once a vaccine is out people will let down their guard and if the vaccine is not effective enough to move us toward herd immunity, its distribution - and the overconfidence it inspires - may have the opposite effect.

This is a layperson’s opinion, maybe somebody who knows a lot more about this could check me.

A $1 billion fund Congress gave the Pentagon in March to build up the country’s supplies of medical equipment has instead been mostly funneled to defense contractors and used to make things such as jet engine parts, body armor and dress uniforms.

You’re confusing the random mutterings of the Trump Administration with ‘strategy’. Don’t let it happen again.

Don’t overthink this, gang. Trump has always talked about the incredibly great things that are going to happen very, very soon if you give him what he wants. I suspect the only people listening now are the people who can be fooled all the time.

This is extremely dangerous and homicidal/genocidal on the part of Trump.

It also certifies that he knows that it is extremely likely that he will lose this election.

Every official in our government who has not been turned into jelly by Trump should be on this.

Yeah, my bad. Phew, thank you for the reminder.

Interesting. Nancy Messonnier is the CDC doctor who initially rang the alarm about how bad this epidemic could be.
