Trump Admin Calls In National Guard Against LA Protestors

Any civilian detained by the military or the National Guard and subsequently turned over to the Police will likely have any and all charges thrown out. The military and the National Guard ARE NOT deputized if the Governor does not agree to their deployment. Another genius move by Trump and his government of morons and clowns.
Sec. Of State Rex Tillerson was right all along - Trump is a fucking moron, and he is not getting any smarter. Further, only a low life moron would work for him. Hence his constellation of pathetic losers.

God help us. How about a tornado right down Pennsylvania Blvd. on Saturday night, when Trump is sitting in the reviewing stand. A guy can dream, can’t he ?

“Members of the National Guard detained civilians in Los Angeles before handing them over to law enforcement, a commanding officer told the [Associated Press]”

From a strictly legal standpoint, I have to wonder to what extent charges will be filed and will hold up, unless perhaps there is video of the alleged illegal actions. I’m not up on current laws and court decisions, but a similar situation arose in 1969 during the People’s Park protests. National Guard troops (called out by then-Governor Ronald Reagan) surrounded ~450 demonstrators and corralled them into a bank parking lot, where a Berkeley policemen at a table booked them one by one on three misdemeanor charges. The legal problem was that the arresting officer, the one at the table, hadn’t witnessed the alleged violations. Because of this, all charges were dismissed against all the arrested at the preliminary hearing.

Demonstrating that any person of color who is duly elected is going to be targetted by DJT and his goons. Baraka, MacIver, now Padilla. If he could arrest the Obamas he would.

… but enough about Donald Trump.

Roughing up a US Senator is something another US Senator, Republican, now supports.

I really do not think Republicans have thought through the consequences of violent escalation.

That’s because they truly and deeply believe that they will always be in power and free to bully and attack Dems forever. When you don’t see the reality for the trees, you can be deceived into thinking your power is eternal.

They’ve always supported it, just now being open about it.

Hopefully, this will spur Schumer out of his Senate comity stupor. If his fellow Senators across the aisle won’t step up to support Padilla, then shut the Senate down with all of his power. Not doing so means other Democratic Senators will be arrested.

Literally arguing they have extralegal powers. Mr Shumate should be disbarred in addition to losing the case.

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer, a former Watergate prosecutor nominated to the bench by Bill Clinton in 1997, was assigned to Newsom’s case Tuesday, a day after California officials sued to reverse Trump’s order.

I guess I never fully realized what an enormous piece of shit Mike Johnson is. I mean, I knew he was an asshole, but he’s really all the way out there on the fringe of maga dickheadery.

I still have not seen a fine detail description of what happened to Padilla.

But…

If simply being present and asking questions creates these television moments, Democrats should be showing up everywhere a Republican dares to tread ground. Padilla got air time, notice and loads of reactions and discussion. And triggered Republicans gave him that. This fits my sense everyone should take opportunity anytime an opportunity presents it self. Get those cameras on ya!

Yeah. Why even have this law? Unless, it’s only for Democratic presidents.

I guess this is exactly how I expected it all to go down. Day after day, these moments, some small some dramatic. And it is impossible to see it all together at once. But what we all feared is at this point fully here and by God am I angry about it.

Shumate, for the DOJ, replies by citing the Take Care Clause of the Constitution, saying that it gives Trump inherent authority that goes beyond the review of the courts.

So, because the patient swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, that means that whatever he does is, by that very fact, upholding the Constitution?

I’m pretty sure that’s not how any of this works.

“Honey, you know I swore to be faithful to you, forsaking all others. Therefore, that absolutely could not have been your maid of honor naked in my bed with me…”

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) claimed Thursday that it was Padilla who incited the violent event and that it was “beneath” a sitting member of Congress.

Hey Mike. Exodus 20:16.

Do you suppose Judge Breyer is aware of what happened to Sen. Padilla this afternoon?
