For months during the 2024 campaign, Donald Trump promised to use the military domestically. His campaign telegraphed it via news coverage and reports from friendly nonprofits; Trump mused about using soldiers against protests. After he defeated Kamala Harris, the then-President-elect reminded everyone that he wanted to see “military assets” used as an adjunct to mass…
Two men acting like little boys playing soldiers. Add in that Pete Hegseth can’t hold on to underlings, and we’re ripe for another US military vs the People.
DonOLD really is the Drama Queen of all Drama Queens.
Hard to believe this is where we’re at, unless of course you’ve been paying attention for the past 9 years. Donnie has a boner for using the troops against protesting citizens because he’s sick in the head and surrounded by equally f’d up minions. This is just the beginning. That said, CA isn’t w/o power. There’s a lot of money in the form of taxes that can be used as leverage. Be brave Gov Newsom and all of California!
The order "…very bluntly states that “protests” or “actions of violence” are a “form of rebellion against the authority” of the U.S. government if they “directly inhibit the execution of the laws.”
Clear-cut evidence that the Orange Asshole has never read the Constitution he has twice sworn to “preserve, protect and defend.” The First Amendment is pretty clear on this…how do we stop this madness?
One thing that genuinely concerns me is the use of neck gaiters by National Guard troops to obscure their faces. It’s no surprise that police and civilian federal law enforcement of the various departments are using fascist tactics to hide their identities, but service members shouldn’t be doing that. National Guard units rely on civilians trusting them during natural disasters to accomplish their missions, which is aided by being (1) identifiable and (2) able to have a conversation.
If it’s an order coming down from above, we’ll soon hear about it because Soldiers love to complain on social media. I assume it’s not their decision, as gaiters are warm even in the winter and the idea of wearing it in the summer in LA is miserable.
Minor quibble.
it very bluntly states that “protests” or “actions of violence” are a “form of rebellion against the authority” of the U.S. government
The U.S. government (Trump) derives its authority from the consent of the governed.
It is like a cocktail - Pinochet meets Mussolini.
I assume:
- It will get worse, as it always has with Trump.
- Everything Trump Touches Dies (thanks to Rick Wilson).
- Trump will imprison as many people as possible.
- Some people will be disappeared.
- Strange things will happen (as it always does with Trump) and the media will not cover these events.
- Some brave people will stand up in unexpected and surprising ways.
- June 14th will be a sh*9show.
- He will lose when he dies in office or is forceable removed.
Promises made, promises kept!

Trump is going to lose another lawsuit.
It’s not clear whether the order is legal; Governor Gavin Newsom (D) said on Sunday night that the state would go to court on Monday to block Trump from federalizing the California Guard without state consent.
It’s not and Newsom should do more. He should order the Adjutant General to stand down the CA National Guard. If he refuses, then fire him and appoint someone who will follow lawful orders.
No compliance in advance please. If Trump wants to seize the National Guard, he will have to invoke the Insurrection Act.
I don’t think it can be repeated too often that the dotard created the riots on Jan. 6, 2021 then watched them unfold for over three hours before he gently asked the true insurrectionists to disperse. After they had violently ransacked the Capitol building of the United States of America and viciously attacked law enforcement officers defending the building.Beating some with Thin Blue Line flag staffs for Christs sake. Over a thousand of those rioters were identified, indicted, tried and convicted of crimes against the nation by juries of their peers. All of these maniacs who turned out at the request of the dotard to impede the business of the US Congress were pardoned when this asshole was somehow re-elected. Now protests outside immigration courts where ICE goons(some of whom were participants in the Jan.6 criminal conspiracy?) are arresting immigrants after they show up to report as required by law is treated as reason enough to call up the National Guard? Holy fucking shit if he gets away with this one it’ll be over the dead bodies of all the veterans who fought to the death to defeat facsism.
Yeah what about the dotard’s promise to not touch Medicare and Medicaid? Or that he knew nothing about Project 2025? He’s a fucking liar as you well know and his promises change several times a day.
I hope so, and quickly.
If I understand correctly, Donnie’s order for the National Guard was active for the whole country; so, it’s best it gets delegitimized quickly.

I worked in downtown LA during the King riot. I recall a Guard unit digging in across the street from my office. I also recall driving past burning buildings on my commute home. This Trump campaign event isn’t a “riot”. Like all things Trump, it is an empty performance from a small vengeful man.

Like all things Trump, it is an empty performance from a small petty man.
In the main, it seems to be a pretext to allow him to do something he wants to do which isn’t otherwise allowed.
That captures a good deal of Trump’s politics.

One thing that genuinely concerns me is the use of neck gaiters by National Guard troops to obscure their faces.
To me, it makes the whole thing reminiscent of Iraq:
Charlie Kirk, the TPUSA leader and Trump adviser, similarly framed this as a battle between the White House and California officials. He also used language that could anticipate an Insurrection Act invocation, saying that the vibes were that LA “is declaring open rebellion to American authority and sovereignty.”
What does any of this even mean when we have a lawless chief executive?
anything that isn’t complete and utter immediate capitulation to his whim is deemed an insurrection… L’État, c’est moi, if you will.
