Troye: WH Staffers Discussed Possible Scenario Of Trump Refusing To Leave Office | Talking Points Memo

Former top aide to Vice President Mike Pence Olivia Troye said late Friday that she and other White House staffers had discussed the possibility that President Donald Trump could refuse to leave the White House after potentially losing the November presidential election, long before he made the remarks during a briefing on Wednesday.

A fair and honest election where the President urges his followers to vote twice.
At what point can we stop pretending?

Trump suggests canceling the election altogether ?
… don’t think he has thought this through…

There are a few ways that could go … don’t think any of them end up with him in office after January 21, 2021.

“The president when he’s joking, if he says that he’s joking, he’s telling you a half truth,” Troye said.

Well, I guess that that’s about as close to the truth as we can expect from Chiselin’ Trump.

After suggesting that his popularity would be much higher if it hadn’t been overshadowed by reports speculating that he had ties with Russia, Trump said that Democrats would be prone to conceding to a continuation of his presidency saying, “we have no chance.”

Will someone please explain this sentence to me?

Didn’t Stormy Daniels say that -at best- he tells little 1/4 truths …

Vote for Trump and you have a dictatorship.

Do not let Barr, McConnell and the GOP Senate (who are using so-called rules) fool you.

Most dictators attain power through so-called “normal channels”.

Once in power, they start changing rules.

This is important:

What is happening right now…Debate…rallies…Congress holding sessions…fuckers in business suits instead of uniforms…all seem normal. It is that normalcy which is one of their most dangerous advantages. Instead of looking at Barr and McConnell as elderly public servants, look at them as though both are in Uniforms, peaked caps and jackboots.

By now, anyone who does not admit to this is a Trumper and a dictator supporter.

It is now this stark.

Can we just build a new White House, and leave Fat Nixon to haunt the halls of the old one?

If Old Blubberneck thinks any Democrat will concede to his remaining in office as he states it, he’s even more delusional than I give him credit for being.

You’re right to ask. It doesn’t make sense

You really have to wonder at the people who eat this up.

It would be great if this article, or the discussion on CNN, went into what if any conclusions were drawn or how they decided to proceed. It’s good to know that this concern is on everyone’s radar. It would be nice to know if there is a plan in place to thwart his efforts should he follow through.

What about ordering a fumigation. He has a chose, stay or leave but the tent comes up first light the morning after Biden swears in.

Dream on you fat motherfucker. The House doesn’t contain the only Democrats in America - the majority of us are Democrats and we aren’t just going to lie down and let you destroy our democracy. You can count on that.

If Biden wins by a solid (or better) margin, Trump will complain, lie, vent on Twitter, and have his henchmen Barr announce a phony investigation. His regime lackeys will similarly lie and spew nonsense.

But the irrefutable fact is many GOPers in Congress will break with him. As weak cowards who secretly hate Trump and his power on the base, they will toss him aside since he’s an irrelevancy. They’ll gradually start blaming Trump for everything they have done and supported. In the end, Trump will leave.

This is Trump on offense. The debacle of COVID is shelved and now we are justifiably concerned about thing we had never had to think about.

The people who manage what comes out of Trump’s mouth are good at this
