A number of Democratic leaders in the House are worried about Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) safety after President Donald Trump’s rant about her at a rally led racist chants of “send her back” from the crowd.
They should be fearful.
If this isn’t incitement from the President of the United States, I don’t know the meaning of the word. He should be held civilly and criminally responsible should anything happen to Rep. Omar or any of the other members of the “squad”.
And history tells us it’ll only get worse as the election draws closer and Trump sees indictment and prison time in his near future.
“Deplorable”, as it turns out, was too gentle, too kind, of a word to describe Trump’s supporters. They are a pure distillate of unadulterated evil.
The most maddening thing is if something does happen, Republicans will not take a long look at themselves or back off from their monstrous behavior. Hell, they’d probably barely have the energy or desire to prosecute the “very fine people” involved.
I’m sure if something did happen, Trump would go out of his way to not blame the attacker.
Like Omar, I believe tRump is. Fascist.

And words can’t actually injure people.
This woman needs to have a body guard. We should be paying for this to keep her and the other WOC safe.

House Assistant Democratic Leader Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) told Politico that Trump was “instilling fear.”
Trump is not “instilling fear,” he is inciting violence. The first is standard GOP campaign procedure, the second is a crime (for which the OLC maintains that Trump cannot be investigated, tried or convicted).
I don’t know about that. I imagine that it would go down more like this:
“I was not happy with it. I disagree with it. I tried to stop the attacker by starting to speak very quickly. That usually works, but not this time.”
Saw online, but only as recently as 2017 that 9 members of congress had police security, the rest were on their own. Will keep looking for something more current. I’m sure they don’t want to publicize this but these women need protection.
