Three NRA Board Members Resign In Protest | Talking Points Memo

It was a good riposte. Allowed.

Here’s what I can’t figure about Mrs. Yertle:

  1. Her family emigrated here from Taiwan.
  2. Taiwan is where the non-Communists fled when Mao did the Communist Revolution.
  3. Mrs. Yertle’s family has well cultivated ties to the Communist Mainland government.

How the hell does that make sense? Did I miss a counter revolution on the mainland, or are her parents willing to follow any political ideology so long as their shipping company gets to carry the freight?

Oh, and this, too. She is the only cabinet member I ever heard of that stays for the full two terms of a President. She takes the job for her family’s agenda and then keeps their mouth shut until the grift mine is emptied, doesn’t she?

She’s had sexual intercourse with McTurtle.

Do you really need any more excuse to realize that she’s willing to sell out anyone for anything?

As a member of the board of a not for profit it is their fiduciary duty to investigate any allegation of malfeasance on the part of the executive team. Their resignation sounds like they decided to protect themselves from something that is about to come the way of the NRA.

I hope those pictures never hit the interwebs. Can’t unring a bell.

Actually, the real story on them is that they are invested in one of the biggest shipping companies in China, which I think you’re already tracking, so they’re just profiteers.

Seventy-six gun nuts lead the NRA,
With a hundred and ten wingnuts on the line,
They were followed by rows and rows of the finest pistol hos,
The dream of ammosex’l kind.

Seventy six gun nuts flaunt the morning sun,
With a hundred and ten wingnuts right behind.
There were more than a thousand rounds springing up in bounds,
There were guns of ev’ry shape and kind.

There were bull-barrelled sniper rifles with telescopes
Thundering, thundering, rounds on down the range.
Double barrelled shotgunners and magnum guns,
While Harry boy is having his dirty say
There were fifty blunderbusses in the battery,
Thundering, thundering, louder than before.
Derringers of eve’ry size and shotgunners who’d improvise
With hot loads twice the max or more! (More! MORE!)

Seventy six gun nuts led the big parade,
When the order to assault the school rang out loud and clear
Starting off with a big bang boom on an old trench broom,
From a tommy gunner at the rear.

You’re missing something, but otherwise, awesome. Sang along with it, rhythm and meter are exactly on.

Damn, see the edit. Perfect!

You are Lil Nas X, I guess (or at least save the lyrics for later, because this one is good)

Yeah, I noticed I’d not filled out the last line of the first stanza. I’m still not completely happy with it, but I need to walk Beagle Boy and get to bed.

Tomorrow is another work day, and I’ve got to try to decipher hieroglyphs without a rosetta stone tomorrow…

Fair point. Marriage is the best prevention of pregnancy, and all that.

I would replace with:

They were followed by rows and rows of the finest lobbyists,
The cream of ev’ry 'ttorney’s sign.

(still needs work)

As the ancient wisdom says, “The fish rots from the head.”

The letter goes on to say that after attempting to investigate allegations of wrongdoing, the resigning members were “stonewalled, accused of disloyalty, stripped of committee assignments and denied effective counsel necessary to properly discharge our responsibilities as Board members.”

Does this sound familiar? Seems rather like how the Trump administration is dealing with the Congressional enquires, does it not? Hmmmmm.

How will the NRA keep functioning as a Russian government money launderer if its board members all resign? Horrors!

How about:

They were followed by rows and rows of the finest pistol hos,
The dream of every gun nut kind.

Face it, for the NRA board membership is really pretty much a ceremonial honorific position, not a fiduciary one.
