They can make some people hate Kamala. That doesn’t mean they will then like Trump. He has built up a whole lot of reasons to dismay any rational voter.
I was stunned by a dear old friend who went ballistic about Kamala because of her laugh. (h/t Fox Noose). She said she wouldn’t vote for Trump.
Sigh. I think i will take The Great Speckled Dog for his walk now.

That’s another way of saying, as mentioned in the other thread, that he can’t add new voters to move off his 45-47% baseline because he has no new policy ideas. So he has to depress the turnout on the other side, making people hate Harris to win. The debate is going to be lit.

Josh’s post on Harris’ very good favorability numbers. He rightly concentrates on whether the Rs are making any traction in tearing her down.
It really pisses me off how this all works. Despicable Republicans attack and attempt to destroy our amazing Dem pols and candidates…while not offering a single positive thing of their own. Just smear and slime and attack. We all just assume that is all they are going to do. The nation and press seem resigned to it, and seem to think it’s A-OK. Rs will attack, that is all they will do, and the Dems have to withstand or overcome it. Thru positivity, of course.
And, since the R candidate is pretty much bombproof and has been attacked as much as anyone in history with absolutely no result…attacks and negativity are pretty much off the plate for us. Their attacks WORK, because they never stop…it’s all they have…and given enough time it just wears down the population. If they are capable of making Biden’s tenure seem like a failure and have everyone in the nation wishing they had a different D (any D) or else they will feel compelled to vote for Chump (even if they don’t want to)…that is one tilted playing field.
A real Heads I Win, Tails You lose proposition. Dems have to be positive, have real policies, deliver real solutions, and reach out and make each voter’s life better…or they’re doomed. And it’s like pulling teeth.
Rs just have to slime and smear and throw tantrums…and get amazing results by souring the zeitgeist and as unwholesome and ugly as it gets…the result feels inevitable. People hate it, but it just works. A really terrible game we play here in the U.S. these days.
ETA: I am not doomsaying, just my view of how this game is played. Great people have to withstand withering, years-long assaults on their character from the same miscreants who get lifetime free passes.

Thanks for all the support and thoughtful comments. For too many generations, if it was made by women it was craft and if it was made by men it might be art or craft. The lines are blurring today but a lot of folks, like Hunter, aren’t there yet.
