We’ve all been living with Trump for eight years now. He’s done so much, and so much has been written about him, that it’s hard to be surprised. For a writer, it’s hard to find anything new to say: we all know who he is, his appeal and how he operates are, by now, extremely…
Mr. Trump is not any elected entity. None of the National Cemetery graves are his, now and hopefully never to be desecrated with his traitorous carcass.
Trumpspeak Translation.
People said I did it. I’m offended. I didn’t do it because I didn’t need to do it. And if I did do it, it wasn’t my fault.
It’s odd. I got here via a link in my email, but The Weekender doesn’t seem to be posted on the TPM main web page.
ETA. Now it’s there!
It’s a holiday weekend. Things always move a little slower on a holiday weekend. For example, I woke up at 6:07 a.m. this morning, instead of my normal 5:00 a.m.
The story states: “We’ve all been living with Trump for eight years now.”
Not to quibble, but the American people have been subjected to the corrupt antics of this self-righteous buffoon for a far, far greater number of years. He is a plague on the culture and our public life.
Before I go walk, another whack-a-factchecker.
The error that fact-checkers consistently make is taking Trump’s assertions and denials at face value. They still treat the convicted felon like someone who operates in good faith, which often results in wish-casting and the “sane-washing” of Trump’s blather. Democrats, meanwhile, are held to an impossibly literal standard where routine exaggerations and rhetorical flourishes are treated like whoppers.
Trump’s statements are decontextualized, while those from Democrats are relentlessly scrutinized. The impact is a proliferation of false equivalencies that normalize Republican liars.
Apparently, Vice President Harris has one disqualifying flaw - a set of values
So the problem we face with that short and cozy interview is the same one we will face in the weeks leading up to the election: If her “values have not changed,” what are we to make of her attempt to convince us that she has become suddenly friendly to a border wall, hesitant to ditch our private health insurance, reluctant to require electric cars and opposed to a fracking ban?
I know what I make of it. I don’t believe her for a minute.
That’s right, you can’t trust her, because she’s a person of her word. They’ve finally found the chink in her armor
It’s his rules and his graveyard.
But our government, and next year it’s coming down on him like nobody’s seen before.
We’re all voting the Democratic ticket.
That’s the best critique of today’s media problem that I’ve seen.
Thanks.

I wouldn’t call it an error. Their soft-pedaling or ignoring tsf’s lies is something they do with full knowledge. It’s deliberate.
If donnie did not need the publicity why did he do it with videographers in tow against the rules of Arlington Cemetery?
“It’s his rules and his graveyard.”
Ziinnng. Nice one, Josh.
Also Fat Elvis: “I’m so rich, I don’t need anybody’s money…”
Also also Fat Elvis: “Mexico will pay for the Wall…”
Also also also Fat Elvis: “Infrastructure Week right around the corner…”
Ad nauseum…
Trump keeps raising the stakes. “Ok, now I claim that I supposedly am all for abortion rights. Let’s see you ignore that one and call Harris a flip-flopper.” Media: “We’ll get right on it, sir.”
Trump is going to send his Cult Thugs to our voting booths. Trump is crazy.
I can’t believe anyone would vote for a Felon/Rapist as our leader. It’s almost as bad as our grossly limited response to Climate Chaos.
- He’s stupid
- He’s lying
- He’s stupid
- He’s lying

Note To Self
“election officials have a non-discretionary duty to certify results by 5 p.m. six days after election day.”
On Day Seven, the President names an emergency manager to take over the state of Georgia. There’s lots of people who can do the job.
- He expects people to believe he is innocent cuz he said so. Much the way he declassified documents …just by thinking about it.
I know that art produced by women is often demeaned and so wasn’t surprised by the snarkiness of Hunter Walker’s piece. But textile artist is a real thing and doesn’t need mocking by putting it into quotes from someone who has no clue about the art world and art techniques. Do they also put painter in quotes?
