Yes. This is exactly how it will go. Authoritarians must by any means limit public access to reality, especially with respect to flow of data and information.
Their hyphae will also infiltrate the Bureau of Labor Statistics, FRED, the GAO, and they will try to shut down any sources of data they can’t control.

I posted on another thread that I wish we had a leader like Ukraine has, a person of character, integrity, courage. I’d love to see an image of the Ukrainian flag with the words “THIS ISN’T CARDS” against the gold background. President Zelenski, as someone else said, is now the leader of the free world. The Ukrainian people are who we once were, and might be again, if we can shed our fear and lethargy, and rid ourselves of the extortionist and his gang in the WH.

Trump has had this bee in his bonnet since 2016. The damn man won, but for some reason his idee fixe is that he won by a larger margin. And years later he would have won in 2020 if Zelensky had just given him the dirt on Joe and/or Hunter Biden.
We here know this, hell most Americans know that Trump is petty vindictive man. Nothing that Trump does will fill some sort psychic void Trump carries around.
