Per Frum, Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico could “prove that he’s a regular guy” and get positive attention by dunking on Arch Manning, scion of the uber popular Manning football family.
What Frum forgets is that Talarico would need a super friendly press that would talk up how Talarico was such a regular guy, like they did with W. I simply do not remember a Democrat receiving that sort of treatment.

Ivanka Trump tells a story about sailing around the Mediterranean, going for a swim and hiking barefoot to the top of a mountain, where she and her husband scoped out a 1,400 hectare island for development. In fact, they were on Sazan Island on the edge of the Adriatic and Ionian seas. This island has been used by the military for ordinance testing and has a fragile protected environment, including an additional 2,000 hectares of protected sea area.
The Kushners apparently also discovered corrupt, bribable officials in Albania, willing, for a fee, to hand over control and dominion of the island for a “five star” development. This is sort of like Trump’s “discovery” of the 1 hectare employee parking lot of the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami made available to Trump by DeSantis and friends.
The Kushers, who have already begun to ravage the island, have discovered that even in Albania their corrupt narratives don’t fly. While Trumpian disregard for the environment is a factor, the envy problem seems to be afflicting certain billionaires. Having your own Hawaiian retreat like Zuck or an entire Hawaiian island like Larry is one thing, but it won’t match Peter’s current dream of owning his own country (Argentina). It’s nice to see than the other 9 billion inhabitants of this planet realize that they, too, have some agency in what happens to the world.

The nativist and openly racist Trump regime is self sabotaging the World Cup. Hotels report huge vacancies and tourism has plummeted.
Honestly, why would any foreigners come to the U.S. when games are also hosted in Canada and Mexico, which welcome soccer fans and don’t harass and bully tourists?

He’s a favorite of mine. He used to come to the Savannah Music Festival regularly. A few years back, he and his band did a series of unannounced impromptu “stoop” concerts in Brooklyn. Imagine walking down the street and there’s Bill Frisell playing on somebody’s front porch. Nice guy.

TMF showed us how to get Theil to return from Argentina, just have Delta Force grab him. Theil probably doesn’t even have 30 mercenaries guarding him. Even if he does, mercenaries come under the heading of “collateral damage.”

The World Cup Fiasco all boils down to the behavior of the winner of the 2025 FIFA Peace Prize for ““helping to unite people all over the world in peace.”
A cheap supersaver round trip ticket from Berlin to Newark or the NY/NJ area is about 1,700 euros at the moment. The cheapest ticket for the June 16 France vs Senegal - World Cup - Match 17 (Group I) is about 800 euros. A ticket for Brazil vs Morocco - World Cup - Match 7 (Group C) is running close to 1,100 euros. Then there is the cost of hotels, food, and flights within the US, or travel to Canada and Mexico for games. Not a cheap proposition. Depending on where you live, you may be able to see many of the games at no additional cost on your tv.
