I couldn’t bear to watch the news this morning
It will be Republican. It will be coordinated. Because, you know Democrats are elites. They’re the kind that think that all people should have human rights. People who think that with the rise of AI, and the rise of corporate power, concentration of wealth, to billionaires, etc., should be toned down a little bit to the benefit of individual rights of people. Power to the people right on.

Does this represent a more permanent change to the Morning Memo format - from a quick-hit run down of the day’s news (“a lot of things happened. Here are some…”) to more of an editorial?
Sometime the times just need a ‘wtf is going on here’ summary like this and this is one of those times, so I’m not complaining. But I hope the original format doesn’t go away permanently.

Trump’s ear pad was so large I expected to see spike marks from base runners sliding into it. The very definition of ostentatious. But also cruelly sick as he and his whole party still won’t address assault rifle bans. The near miss didn’t make Donny see the light, he just saw political opportunity.

On top of all this, the Biden interview last night was disgusting! Could only stand to watch 30 seconds of the old man rambling on about TFG. Whoever is running the DNC is not doing their job.

In a conversation with my oldest yesterday he pointed out a couple things that were implicit in one of the comments I made here yesterday. I told him that I thought the GOP just assumed that its stochastic terrorism would always be directed at liberals and democrats. I still feel that’s partially to blame for the apparent laxity of the SS cordon on Saturday. He pointed out that it might be true, but there was another dynamic at play. Democrats, liberals, schools, synagogues, black churches, women’s health clubs, gay night clubs, night clubs in general have been forced to increase security. If the GOP has assumed that all the crazy is on their side, they probably haven’t hardened their security particularly. The school shooter demographic isn’t primarily driven by the politics of the moment, but by notoriety. Why not choose the softer targets?
I don’t expect that kind of thoughtful introspection from the GOP. So having had the openness of that set of targets exposed, I would not be surprised if there were more suicide shootings at venues considered to be conservative enclaves.

I did not see what was holding the gauze on his ear in place. No tape was visible and with all the hair products he uses, those things may have been enough. Also, he didn’t look that good.
