Someone needs to audit the auditers.

Audit the frauditors.

It’s like stupid children who want a thing the parents don’t want to give them so they say “please please pleeeeeeeeease” over and over again like the 87th time’s the charm. Yo morons: Just because Trump said he didn’t lose and you yourself didn’t want him to lose doesn’t mean he didn’t in fact lose. He did lose. Everyone with a lick of sense has moved on. The only remaining question to answer is what ails you people.

I guess I’ve been living in a fools’ paradise all this time: I was not aware that I could wrangle a posse of like-minded voters and demand that my local board of elections hand me over a bunch of ballots for a recount. How is this allowed after an election has been certified??

Smart people want to get to the bottom of how Hillary’s hackers managed to out-rig Putin’s this time around.

Don’t these people have jobs? Other life issues? They sure sound like takers to me.

These audits are solely meant to cast doubt on our election system, and give space both for all of the new BS laws Republicans are pushing in the name of “election security” which really are meant to make sure as few non-Republicans vote as possible. It’s very possible all this conspiracy stuff is being pushed by outside sources in order to destabilize our nation, but Republicans are perfectly willing to go along with it in order to grab power. Their end goal is really nakedly apparent now, a dictatorship where only Republicans can win elections, and any other result is attacked and destroyed (using “legal” or violent means as necessary).

If you look at the polling, what they are doing and how they are proceeding is very unpopular, and as they continue moving towards more extreme actions they are losing support. It’s an open question if they can do enough damage to force a win in the 2022 election, or in 2024…I don’t think it’s an open question anymore that they would refuse to seat a Democrat as president if they hold Congress after the 2024 election.

We really are on that road, where our elections are no longer free and fair, and it’s up to the American people to make sure Republicans don’t get away with undoing our democracy.

Question for those old enough to remember (as I am): were we this bad in 2000/2001? I mean, I do remember holding on to hope, right up until the Supreme Court decision, that the recount would go forward and Gore would prevail (popular vote and all…). But after Bush v Gore, I also remember being aware of groups of people who were making seemingly rational arguments that Bush would be unseated and Gore would become the 43rd President.

They were mostly in more lefty circles (so probably among people who, you know, didn’t vote for Gore because reasons, but still wanted the rest of us to carry their asses, as usual). But I also remember myself having a hard time giving up on the idea. Again, I don’t remember as clearly as I’d like. Help me out.

Who can shut this down?
Saying, “oh, let them prove they’re wrong. What harm does it do?” only prolongs the debilitating exercise and chokes a bit more sense and lawfulness out of our nation.
You stop shenanigans right away, or they continue and grow bigger and more dangerous. These aren’t the harmless fun and games we all got up to as kids.

We should do this in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan regarding the 2016 election and have Democratic governors. But we won’t because we’re adults and have unhappily reconciled ourselves with the knowledge that though that election was actually stolen, it’s spilt milk now.

Fueled by a shambolic election recount in Arizona, the audit-bug is spreading, and, with it, the fantastical belief that President Trump’s 2020 electoral defeat could still be reversed.

And they called us snowflakes after 2016 for correctly pointing out that DT lost the popular vote and only squeaked out a win with extremely thin margins by gaming the (spits) electoral college.

“Now” is always worse than historically.

Much worse than disagreements that led to civil wars or anything like that.

It’s embarrassing being an American sometimes. I can’t believe people think that the guy who demonstrably lies continuously is somehow the best source of information, but here we are.

Ironically, the more Trump and Republicans claim the election was stolen, the harsher the judgment from federal judges towards the insurrectionist defendants. He’s doing them no favors.

Therein lies the problem, as Kellyanne Conway pointed out so clearly back in the day.

She probably just threatened to have them whacked and they stood down.

OT: Man, if only this disingenuous asshole was on the board of Fox News, I’m sure he’d get right on it…
