PHOENIX — Arizona’s top election official has asked the attorney general to investigate Kari Lake, the Republican candidate who lost her bid for governor in 2022, over potential campaign violations involving the disclosure of voter signatures.
As part of the former gubernatorial candidate’s grievances, a Jan. 23 tweet from Lake’s account claimed 40,000 ballots didn’t match voter signatures that Arizona had on record. The tweet included a graphic containing images of 16 voter signatures.
In his letter, Fontes pointed to state law involving public inspection of voter registration records. That law says records containing voter signatures “shall not be accessible or reproduced by any person other than the voter.”
Violation of that law, he wrote, is a felony.

Far-right former Trump adviser turned podcast host, Steve Bannon, told his audience Monday “whatever you do, don’t send them any money” – referring to the Republican National Committee.
Bannon, who ran former President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and worked briefly in the White House, expressed concern over the RNC reelecting Ronna McDaniel as chair on Friday.
Ahead of the 2022 midterm elections Bannon boosted far-right candidates for local office across the country and vowed a take over of local government to help overturn the 2020 election results.

Donald Trump’s hush money scheme to silence porn actress Stormy Daniels is going to a New York grand jury:
- Former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker was seen with his lawyer entering the building where the grand jury is sitting.
- Other expected witnesses who have yet to testify include former National Enquirer editor Dylan Howard and Trump Org employees Jeffrey McConney and Deborah Tarasoff, the NYT reported.
The case is being brought by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, who famously stopped the probe soon after taking office last year.

If he was stupid enough to use his GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHONE to assist an insurrection, then he’s a world-class idiot who deserves everything coming to him. Any search warrant can sift out all the non-relevant calls and communications.
