Nikki Haley calls for all Trump legal cases to be ‘dealt with’ before November (nbcnews.com)

“I think all of the cases should be dealt with before November,” she said Thursday in an interview with NBC News’ “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker in Falls Church, Virginia, where voters will cast their primary ballots Tuesday.

“We need to know what’s going to happen before it, before the presidency happens, because after that, should he become president, I don’t think any of it’s going to get heard,” she continued.

Captain Obvious strikes again.

And the judicial system, right up to SCOTUS, is all fine with it.

Nobody on the Right, including his most daring opponents…have even come close to touching on the subject of his being a rapist, a business fraud, an epic Tax Cheat, a Traitor, a treasonous espionage suspect, or an insurrectionist for leading a coup.

Haley saying that “some” of the trials should come before the election is barely touching on the subject…but still doesn’t hit him on any of the topics I mentioned above. The R opponents of Chump could have been eviscerating him on these topics for the last 6 months…but none of them have dared even utter the real gravity of his transgressions. So basically, 40-45% of our populace gets to keep dodging the seriousness of his crimes…a huge portion of the country isn’t processing or having to deal with what is actually at stake.

Sit ins, civil disobedience, demonstrations in front of SCBuilding. Political conventions this summer. We the people rise up!

Quite revealing how, amid all Trump’s legal troubles and relative weakness against the ineffectual protest vote for Nikki Haley, he wastes his time plotting revenge against the completely irrelevant DeSantis. It is a window on what the rest of the country can expect in the event of Trump’s election.

That said, I suspect DeSantis will within a few months become a groveling sycophant, just as Linda Lindsey Graham criticized Trump for being a Kremlin stooge in 2016 before becoming his most loyal Ganymede.

‘Simply unfair’: Labor rights activists slam Kentucky lunch bill as recipe for ‘injuries and burnout’ - Alternet.org

In Kentucky, a bill sponsored by Republican State Rep. Phillip Pratt would, among other things, eliminate workers’ rights to lunch breaks and rest breaks. House Bill 500 has been advancing in the Kentucky State Legislature, and Pratt’s proposal — according to the Louisville Courier-Journal — is getting a scathing analysis from labor rights activists.

GOP lawmaker wants to eliminate lunch breaks and cut worker pay - Alternet.org

A Republican state representative in Kentucky is proposing a bill that, if passed, would repeal the requirement that employers provide workers with lunch breaks. It also includes language that would result in a reduction in net pay for many workers.

The Kentucky Center for Economic Policy (KCEP) — a fiscal policy think tank in the commonwealth — recently broke down House Bill 500, which was sponsored by Republican Rep. Phillip Pratt. Aside from its language allowing companies to avoid having to provide lunch breaks to workers, it would also eliminate mandatory rest breaks and end the requirement to pay time-and-a-half wages to employees who work seven days a week. HB 500 also removes any liability for employers who don’t pay workers for time on the clock traveling between jobs, and allows companies to not pay workers for tasks associated with starting and ending a job.

" Trump unexpectedly offered up a trial date of before the election: Aug. 12."

She’s going to schedule it for after the election. This is just smokescreen to be able to claim it wasn’t because she was doing his bidding.

Since there will be no live coverage of today’s MaL hearing I hope the reporters in attendance will let us know if 45/91 flashes a.cannon a thumbs up and cheesy smile when she enters the courtroom. Or if she gives him a thumbs up and a cheesy smile.

GOP candidate for governor outed as KKK member after cross burning photo emerges - Alternet.org
According to Riverfront Times reporter Ryan Krull, a 2019 photo shows McClanahan standing next to a KKK member in front of a burning cross. McClanahan was wearing street clothes in the photo, while the person standing next to him was in full KKK attire.

McClanahan has filed a lawsuit against the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which published the photo on their website in 2022 along with an article. McClanahan argued, in the lawsuit, that he was strictly an “honorary” KKK member — not a full member — and that the photo showed a “Christian Identity Cross lighting ceremony” instead of a full-fledged KKK cross burning ceremony.

What’s going to solve this issue is not any of that. SCOTUS and the judicial system don’t care about sit-ins, civil disobedience, demonstrations or political conventions. The judicial system is not going to save us from this at all - they’ve demonstrated their abilities over the last year or so. Some are trying, but they get scuttled by SCOTUS.

What’s going to settle this is the election. If we fail to re-elect Biden for ANY reason, the nation will get what it deserves.

–Benjamin Franklin’s response to Elizabeth Willing Powel’s question: “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” “A republic, if you can keep it.”

It’s up to the American people to make that choice. Nobody else.
