The Race Is On To Release Jack Smith's Report Before Trump Takes Over

Probably she’s unhappy with her remuneration for this public appearance. After all, her time is valuable. She’s got books to sell, scams to run. She’s waiting for the moment she can bolt.

Didn’t Scorcese/Fox just do this?

The fires are being perceived as rich celebrities losing their homes because that is what the media is focusing on. Unfortunately, most of the people losing their homes are “regular folks” and are probably under insured.

My childhood home was across the street from a Hurst fire evacuation warning zone in the flatlands. The neighborhood was built in the 1950s and is now mostly populated with immigrant families and first generation families. A family around the corner from where I grew up lost their home to fire on Christmas Eve. They didn’t have any insurance because they simply couldn’t afford it. I have a feeling that that’s going to be a problem for many people who lost their homes in the Hurst fire.

The house in Pasadena where my sister lived in the 90s was burned down in the Eaton Fire.

Even though my family hasn’t lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years, it’s still devastating seeing the loss and destruction.

True, but I’m pissed …lol

There’s an adage “Say what you want about me, just spell my name correctly.”

It’s a fundamental of media.

Liberal news coverage isn’t just disparaging conservatives.

We also have a point. It’s apparently a secret.

A lot of middle class folks live(d) in Pacific Palisades.

You may hear of the celebrities, but if you bought 20-30 years ago and raised a family in PP, you have enjoyed massive property value appreciation and due to Prop 13., relatively low property taxes.

Now, can you afford to rebuild?

I’m also hoping that some 21st-century zoning can be attempted – more density, a chance to think creatively. That will be a challenge in Pacific Palisades, with its highly desirable land near the ocean, but wonder about Altadena and the areas to the east. It should be done in both places if possible.

I think a lot of folk assume only celebs live in the Palisades. Not true. And the entire area burned, not just a few rich houses. The whole town was bruned down. Apocalyptic.

The man is such a self absorbed boor, he could only think about the snubs by Momma Pence and most of the rest of the Presidents club and wives. I am sure he was steaming. And my take on the Obama laugh at something Donnie said…was he laughing with Donnie…or laughing at him for something ridiculous he said? Michelle Obama gave the most eloquent snub by not interrupting her vacation to breathe the same air as the couple from hell.

Re the rise in global temperature, it is vital that climate data and reporting be as accessible to and understandable by as many people as possible. The sole use of Celsius, as in your noted 1.5 C temperature increase, without a Fahrenheit conversion (2.7 F in this case), appears to understate the problem for too many Americans. A recent poll indicated that Americans are largely unfamiliar with Celsius and would like climate research and reporting to include Fahrenheit. The U.N. Environment Programme’s Emissions Gap Report 2021 warns that the world is “on track for a global temperature rise of 2.7 degrees C by the end of the century.” That converts to an increase of nearly five degrees Fahrenheit—a figure that sounds much more severe to the average American. I ask that TPM make a practice of always including conversions to Fahrenheit in their work. A simple thing, but critical to our collective understanding of the challenges we face, as seen in the headlines every day.

Jesus Chainsaw Massacre: The sequel.

Oh and his house burned down while he was on Rogan. From what I have read folks who stayed close to or in their houses faired better. But considering how catastrophic this is it was probably few.

We, in the 1950’s had a nice house two streets from the cliff edge. I could amble down a small canyon to 101, dash across and be at Will Rogers beach. Idylic. I’d see folk catch fish, I’d swim a little and collect shells at the water edge.
It’s all gone. Smoke and ash and water I would see as not clean.
We were decidedly not upper crust by any means moneywise.
