The Republicans are nuts, that leaves the Democratic Party as a giant “bin” that houses people whose politics vary from AOC, and perhaps a little to the left of her, to Rick Wilson. Sanders is not a Democrat and I’m not sure that many people to the left of AOC vote Democratic, if they vote at all.

What the true believers say is not that Trump has eliminated federal disaster aid and couldn’t care less about them. They say that FEMA is a POS just like Trump and FOX told them it was. God is, of course, infallible. Government is terrible - Trump is wonderful.

right on…i was raisedd in a relatively isolated area of CANADA…as in.most were families who had lived there for generations…‘autism’ as it is called to- day probably existed… i remember kids/people who were considered ‘slow, different’ etc., as near as i can remember, they were never considered anything other than who/what they were and were treated acordingly. there is a boy lives across from us, who is on the spectrum, i’ve watched him grow ,become a decent, sweet person…his parents have taught him to get on in this busy hectic life…he is about to enter advanced hight school… people like RFK are disgusting; making a name for himself on the backs of these people…his autism’ registary is obscene, ths from a man who swims in sewage and picks up road kill…

I would love to see the Democrats shift a bit further left but I think the fact that Dems almost always end up picking up the mess the Republicans made while they were in control virtually guarantees that the elected Dems will be institutionalists and centrists. Progressive and truly liberal policies are the province of a comfortable electorate in a stable, affluent economy. We haven’t been there in decades.
