Hello it’s the weekend. This is The Weekender :coffee: The fired head of the U.S. Copyright Office is fighting back against the Trump administration’s recent attempt to seize control of the Library of Congress, which, as the name suggests, is a legislative branch agency. Thought we already found out what causes autism. Vaccines.

That was my understanding. Why do we need all these scientists? Seems like waste, fraud, and abuse.

The Would Be King is “testing the limits”? That’s an inaccurate phrase. There’s no “testing” involved. He’s going over the “boundaries”, breaking things, ignoring laws, all in furtherance of getting his way. He’s like water rushing through the dike. If there’s a weakness, he’ll go through it and tear an even bigger hole as he forces his way through.

That’s the way toddlers work. That’s been his M.O., ever since toddlerhood, when his mother tried to discipline him, like the other children, but his father Fred thought it was “cute” when he sassed her and kept doing the bad thing.

Yes. I assumed Bobby Junior would just need a few months to whip up a glossy PR campaign to demonstrate this thing he “always knew.” That’s “research”, right? If all you are trained at is Plaintiff’s Attorney.

Actually:

  1. RFK is looking for scientists to rubber stamp his idea.
  2. He found it more difficult to find such than expected.
  3. So, he has postponed when he plans to roll out the “discovery”.

Meanwhile, the Rapist/Felon will be addressing the commencement at West Point. Cannot wait for the delirious cheers of all the Little Eichmanns with the promise of using their weapons against “fellow” Americans.

For those of us getting really freaked looking for the limits to Trump’s paranoia, there’s a column by a UMich law professor in today’s WaPo that is worth reading. As a bonus, it reintroduces us lawyers to the Supremes’ decision in Perry v Sindermann, which re-emphasized that even benefits that were based on privileges – as opposed to rights – could not be withheld for reasons that were unconstitutional.

The column is here (I was inexplicably unable to place it in front of the paywall):

rising rates of autism are caused by “environmental toxins” in food

The solution is obvious, stop producing food that is exposed to environmental toxins by being grown outdoors, in the soil, and fertilized with organic materials. We have known the answer for more than 50 years. Replace our toxic foods with Soylent Green.
