Ironically, the Ukrainian diet is high-fat, lots of meat, plenty of homemade potato vodka, nothing like vegan pilates militia there.

The younger generation not so much. My grandmother was Ukrainian, so I am well aware of what the Ukrainian diet is like. I grew up on perogies and holubtsi. Not too many know how to cook from scratch like that anymore. It’s OK for a rare treat, but you’re asking for trouble eating like that everyday. And remember, when you’re young the damage from that traditional diet has not been done yet. Not sure what the life span is for Ukrainians but it can’t be too different from Russians who are not long lived.

About a billion years, considering my ex’s quite elderly but fully functional family members who refuse to flee because they’ve had their home since the stone age and no mere bombing or invasion is going to dislodge them.
Invading perfectly peaceful countries and not actually being prepared to fight reduces overall life expectancy of the population significantly. Also Adidas tracksuits. Although those are going away.

Well…if you’ve ever seen what modern weapons do to a human body you’d understand why that might be. A shredded body makes an open casket impossible and 1/3 of a body even less so.
Americans almost never do this. But it may be the custom in Russia, a nation that hides anything it does not want seen.

There are a lot of variables. Years ago when more people lived rural and farmed they could eat more high fat diets because they worked it off. Ultimately, it boils down to calories. If you don’t burn more than you take in you might get sick and fat.

I don’t think that will happen. Support for Ukraine will continue because this is about as clear as it gets for one country bullying another. The videos of civilian deaths will only get worse.
Both sides of the political spectrum will continue to support Ukraine, but the Right will blame Biden for the rise in gas prices and any other related issue like inflation and food prices because it’s politically useful They have no scruples, no honor. They will take any world event and blame it on Democrats because their voters are too stupid and ignorant about world events to understand how any of this works.
