I agree completely. We have incredible talent here, with the full desire and dreams and ability to be our teachers, nurses, engineers, mail and delivery people, public workers, pilots, computer coders and IT managers, child care providers, athletes, accountants, store managers, professors, bus drivers, Police officers, restaurant chefs, cooks, servers, librarians, soldiers, fishermen, artists, bartenders, farmers, musicians, and so many other people we need here, But who we don’t want to support, respect, or pay living wages to. We, in this country, because of our politics, policies, and bigotry, are destroying what we always used to refer to as “the American Dream.”
I have experienced and fought this my entire life, and worked hard. I’m a white, well educated (3 Master Degrees), high achieving woman, from a lower-middle class family of origin. And have spent 30+ years providing health care access, research outcomes, and working to train others in underserved rural and urban health facilities. I will never stop working for our people who come to and live in this country.
