I think most gop types vote in person, or so I have read.
I live in a state where the net migration imbalance is about 20%. Every time I am on the freeway I see at least four Texas plates.
Only to the the degree they are overrepresented in government.
So just what aid is DoJ supposed to be offering against an equal-opportunity curtailment of the right to vote?
OOHHHHH!!
The proof in the pudding will be how many applications/ballots are rejected in counties not so blue?
I think if I were a reliable Republican voter who is qualified to use VBM in Texas and my ballot request/ballot is rejected I’d sure be mad. Because this means the primary candidate I wanted to get to the election may not get there if my vote is tossed.
They do. It’s the fox news teleprompter
Argue white Republicans are being hassled…
SC will come riding to the rescue
Nah I’ve turned my ire to Florida. We can all agree Florida sux.
And the pundits are aghast when people report that they don’t trust the press. Only now, the distrust is coming from both left and right.
Mexico, could you please come take Texas back? Hurry please. Like today.
Thank you,
All of the 49 other states
Seems the Goobers in Texas do not want folks to vote safely. or rather…vote at all.
Tough shit. It’s the dumbfucks they elected who made it disproportionately more difficult for old white folks to vote, all to stupidly assuage Donald Trump’s 2020 electoral grievances. It’s a glorious, glorious day to see so many of their elderly white voters get disproportionately disenfranchised, as anyone with even half a functioning brain could have predicted.
Three cheers to tricksy hobbit Briscoe Cain!
And then they’ll reject the election outcome, because shocked they are about the rejection rates, this isn’t at all what they intended, and oh noes we’ll have to re-do the election.
That’s the point. The law is working exactly as intended
The Texas Republicans wanted to gum up elections and they have succeeded. Apparently they have succeeded a little too well and voters of every stripe are being adversely impacted.
Well at least the VP is allowed to ignore the election… or so we’ve been told
Another example where I have to say, ‘wtf, DOJ?!’. The AG has a mic. He has a bully pulpit. I don’t know why Garland or a Deputy AG can’t get on the mic and shout down TX and other GOPers for specific measures targeted at restricting minority voting rights. Why does it take Harris County to complain for the DOJ to be proactive? Who cares if MAGA judges may shut you down, go out and defend the law and the people. Public opinion will swing in your favor and that does impact judges. The best recent example of that is gay marriage. The same SCOTUS case brought in 2002 and 2004 would have a different result the actual Obergfell decision in 2015. Why? A massive change in public opinion from 2004, where George W. Bush won re-election hitching his wagon to anti-gay marriage ballot measures to the mid 10s, when the public at large embraced marriage equality to such an extent that Dems leaned in and the GOP had no effective response. In about 5 years as our demography rapidly changes, people are going to completely discredit GOP voter suppression tactics as the Jim Crow redux that we Dems say it is. Be aggressive, DOJ!
Yes, old white demographic is significantly more R than D. FA,FO.
The purist in me wants to see everyone be able to vote, but on the other hand, f them.
