And Harris County so thoughtfully gave us the idea of drive through voting-
I mean what is more fucking American than drive through voting?
This is such fucking bullshit. If the goddamned signature match what the fuck is the problem? One person, one vote. Oh, wait. These are black voters, got it. So in Texas it’s one person, no vote. How about they cut the shit and just let the fucking governor decide, as long as he’s a Republican, of course. I mean, that’s ultimately what these motherfuckers want, isn’t it?
They’re too obedient and stupid for that. They must follow the accepted narrative otherwise, they’ll be slinging burgers next week. Though most of them are more qualified for that anyway.
If only…
Harris County:

Do you see? An almost 5.5% drop in white percentage share from 2010-2020.
No one is seceding.
It’s illegal.
The issue was settled definitively in 1865.
And you’re talking about one of the most liberal places in Texas.
Do try to keep up.
Depends on the state. In this case, i really see SB1 backfiring in a humongous way. Donnie and his cabal have been screaming that the vote was rigged, and that all of the problems with voting are all part of a Democrat plot to steal elections. Add into that tens of thousands of ballot requests being denied because of this action by Republicans, and even sent by Republicans to other Republicans that are now in limbo…all that adds up to tremendous frustrations where quite a lot of older white Republican rubes will just give up and not vote at all because of what T rumpp said. This all reinforces their perceptions that their efforts are obviously wasted, so why bother!
I’m pretty sure tricksy hobbit Briscoe Cain and his GOP brain genius colleagues really didn’t think through the idea of making it harder to vote by mail when basically nobody in the state except for age 65+ were ever eligible to vote by mail in the first place. Disproportionately disenfranchising elderly white people is great!
Here you go, Boomer!
ETA Boomer meaning disenfranchised elderly white people, and not @txlawyer.
No, “we” don’t know anything of the sort.
Your doomsplaining is less than helpful.
Texas is purple state, trending blue. These voter suppression tactics are the last, desperate attempt by the shrinking Texas GOP to hold on to power. The goal is to flip the state blue to gain seats in the House and Senate and the state’s 38 electoral votes. We don’t want them to secede, we want them to vote the GOP out of power.
None of us Texans who’ve set foot outside the state are even slightly amazed at how many people dislike Texas. I dislike it myself, for that matter, and have spent half my life elsewhere. But cool your jets and give it a few years – this vote suppression is happening because the Republicans know the state is gonna turn blue to an extent that terrifies them. Give the millions of hard-working, beleaguered Texas Democrats a break.
Agreed.
Yes
Also yes…
As a thought exercise… what is the penalty for this illegal act?
In 1865 it was war.
I’m not advocating or arguing… but would we do the same in 2022?
It should be clear by now that they like to see their names in print, no matter the reason. “But, why?” TV interviews are their favorite forms of entertainment. They cannot be shamed. It is with hyperventilating-in-a-paper-bag anxiety that I greet every day looking to see that no senior Senators have gone to the great beyond. Here’s hoping we get at least 2 new, real Democratic senators so I can put the bag down. Then we will get the Voting Rights Act passed, and, hopefully, some campaign finance reform to save us from the plutocrats.
Drive-through voting where you shoot the ballot?
Yeah true. Sometimes amazed at the people who like us, however. Found out last night that Dallas is Ringo Starr’s favorite football team and he really likes American football. He actually almost moved here at one time because he likes the Cowboys.
That was a surprise.
Folks, look at the top chart here, the trend in presidential election results.
In 20 years it’s gone from a 21 point spread to less than 6 points. And it’s impossible for a Republican to win the presidency without Texas.
Less than a six point shift required to lock the Republican party out of the White House.
So how about we try to lift up our Texas brothers and sisters trying to make that happen instead of shitting on their home?
And an All-you-can-eat buffet…
And they say the American Dream is dead.
Yeah - mind that gap - it just keeps getting more narrow.
