Texas’ Largest County Asks DOJ For Help As SB1 Causes Thousands Of Ballots To Be Rejected | Talking Points Memo

Let alone the instructions being written in invisible ink and encrypted, with the answer key only being available by appearing in person at the county clerk’s office from 1159 PM to 1201 AM during the full moon on alternate months, beginning the fifth monday of February.

Hmmm. I guess Texas GOPers are even dumber than we suspected.

I guess that depends on what you suspected. They are about what I know - as dumb as it gets. Dan Patrick mailed out all those ballots with instructions to return them to the wrong person at the wrong place. He didn’t mail those out to any Demcratic voters.

Yes but Robert’s will be play acting voting with the liberals because the pending overturn of Roe ((also likely 5-4).

O yes he is - utter. He was just a radio hate screamer - that was his entire qualification to be lt. governor. He’s fucking useless.

Don’t worry, @tena. N. Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, and even states like Wisconsin aren’t terribly far behind Texas. Texas is just an easy punching bag because their tourism motto was Like a Whole Other Country a while back. But, Texas sure as hell ain’t alone in what they’re doing to voters. They’re just out in front, with half of the other red states not far behind. To be perfectly honest, i lay this fiasco at the feet of Chief Justice Roberts.when he allowed the gutting of the VRA. He is the one who lit the green light for all of this bullshit.

Yes, but 5-4. Robert’s is pretending to be moderate these days which he can afford as he’s the extra vote.

SMDH that any blue voter still hasn’t learned that simple (150-year-old) lesson…

I guess they can’t let go of the hope and the fantasy.

Inside flap of envelope is typically seen as you have to lick flap.

Well you put the ID numbers - your DL# and last four of your SS# in one place that is obvious and you think that’s it. That’s what is insidious - they want them again. Once isn’t enough and should be.

The Texas voting law is performing EXACTLY as expected. Nothing more, nothing less. Finding a way to suppress women’s votes will be attempted next.

There would be a refugee program, of course😉

It’s really the small rural states and the federal system regarding senate membership that is the problem.

Problem state governments like texas’ current one would be manageable with a functional senate.

Sadly equally impossible to fix

So if they want to reach Republicans, they should print essential information on Trump’s ass?

That’s where I’m at on this too. Folks have a right to vote as simply as possible. I’m not one who could wait in line for hours to vote (though Harris County precinct workers are usually good about keeping things moving). And restrictions of any type are onerous.

I have been to Texas many times. I hate it there. I guess we will have to accept disagreement. You would be amazed at home many people dislike Texas and their pernicious overcompensating.

Yep saw a survey where folks thought inflation is worse a problem than covid.

How is that?

People feel inflation that deeply all of the sudden?

Or does the media tell people what to think, then survey to find if they will repeat as taught, that that news confirms?

I wish to state clearly and unambiguously that I am completely in favor of disproportionately disenfranchising elderly white people. I will die on that bridge.
