CNN “State of the Union” host Jake Tapper got into a heated exchange with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Sunday when the lawmaker repeatedly defended President Donald Trump’s phone call with the president of Ukraine.
The Holocaust did not happen with just Hitler’s loathsome self…he had the Nazi Party! Just as the Extortion-In-Chief has the RepubliCONS that are dead-beat legislators, Faux News and Murderous Putin! All told, Trump’s THUG’s-R-Us are going to deny, distract, deflect that the Extortion-In-Chief is a criminal even if Trump has admitted his extortion deed!

Having awakened from the delirious optimism brought on by events of the past week and recovered from the concomitant crippling naïveté, I can see now, in the dull grey light of Sunday, that the dark side is going to win. It’s inevitable.
Because the question is not, for example, what does Putin or Trump or whoever have on Lindsey Graham that they can make him behave like such an idiot. The question is rather, what does Graham understand that we do not? What do all the dead-enders defending the indefensible know?
The answer is: “Democrats’ shit is weak; ours is strong like a bull’s.”
This isn’t the science channel. It’s professional wrestling. Superior showmanship worked with Mueller report, it worked with Kavenaugh and it’s going to work again with Ukrainium. Graham was overheard on a flight to Washington telling Jared on the phone "This is Kavanaugh on steroids! This is hearsay – and this person has bias.” On “Face the Nation” today I thought Graham looked and sounded like a gibbering idiot. But I’m not a wrestling fan so what do I know. What really happened is that while Pelosi and Schiff muttered about facts Graham and Giuliani bounced off the ropes and blew them away with a perfectly executed Corkscrew Shooting Star Press!!! Trump, wearing the belt, jumps in now and finishes it with an awesome Iranian Nuke Kick.

The Republicans use hype, everything is the worst that ever happened in our history. Couple that with "we alone can protect the family values, the country from terrorism by saying “Radical Islamic Terrorist”, and don’t worry little lady “trickle down economics works and will save you”, and all anyone has to do is vote for Republicans up and down the ballot.
Today’s Democratic candidates have moved from protector of unions (though still imporatant), and all the FDR and Johnson programs we’ve enjoyed for 50 years.
All you have to remember is that out the field of 17(?) Republican candidates in 2015-16 they couldn’t deal with Trump using their playbook against them. They treated him as someone who knew what he was doing, despite is past history.
Gym Jordan might actually hold the dubious distinction of being the biggest ass hat in DC.

Cover ups and defending the indefensible is what Jordan does best. Be it corrupt president or seria sexual abusers he is fine with that.
Every Republican acting like this should get the same scorn Tapper showed…Jordan was not laying out facts, he was laying out lies and made up stories in an attempt to distract from Trump’s malfeasance, which really cannot be defended. Every single time a Republican does this, the media needs to shut them down hard; maybe the impeachment process will help the media grow a spine and finally point out right from wrong for a change.
I take some measure of comfort in that increasingly journalists are actually doing their job fact-checking their guests in real time.
As examples, both Tapper and Chris Wallace did good work in their interviews with Jordan and Miller respectively.
And as the Impeachment investigation heats up, I imagine there’ll be plenty of journalists aspiring to be the next Woodward or Bernstein - working doggedly for the next big scoop. Careers can be made over what’ll transpire over the next few months.
Why is Tapper surprised? Ignoring the sexual abuse of Ohio State wrestlers by the team’s doctor is EXACTLY the level of vile “pseudo ignorance” that one would have to display to pretend that Putin’s bitch wasn’t once again calling in an overseas favor.

I wish they’d just stop having these Republicans on as guests when they know - they know 100% - that they are just going to lie. They won’t catch them with a gotcha question, because they’ll just continue to double down, change the subject, lie some more.
If they must be booked as guests in order for the media outlet to appear to be “fair” and to “hear from both sides” then book a Democrat, too. Tell both at the beginning of their joint or individual interview that, at their speaking the first demonstrable or debunked lie, their mic will be cut off and the guest will be escorted out of the studio.
See who lasts the longest in the interviews - the Republicans or the Democrats.

Where were the Dems on the talk circuit. Why home, the MSM can’t dobothsiderism if there is actually both sides. For at least the past 30 years for a single Dem interviewed it has required at least six REPUGS to be fair and balanced. Also does not matter which party is actually in the majority the MSM always always treats Repugs as they need help as if they are poor cousins.
Honestly, late is just as bad as never in this case.
Had journalists been more willing to call out GOP bs, we could averted far more damage to the country. The Iraq war, Benghazi, but her emails and far far more we’re incentivized by a press willing to push a “both sides have a point” reporting standard.
One of the reasons TPM became my go to source for news is because they see and report political news based on reality rather than “balance”.
