Susan Rice Grills Bolton | Talking Points Memo

Former Obama National Security Adviser Susan Rice grilled John Bolton on his decision to not testify during the House impeachment inquiry during a discussion Wednesday at Vanderbilt University.

This convinces me that his ‘testimony’ would have ammounted to a sales pitch for the book - while slamming Dem’s for his imagined ‘mal-practice’. Yeah - I don’t think it would have helped either, you asshole.

Good for her, he deserved every bit of that. It shows, really, how he failed as a leader, and the nation…a real leader would have defended his people and testified on what happened to him. A patriot would have went before the House and testified, not hidden behind their lawyer…we saw multiple patriots do that, so we know what kind of person Bolton really is, he showed that. And, he deserves every bit of scorn from his inadequacy. He also doesn’t get a pass because it wouldn’t have mattered…your character is best shown by doing the right thing even if it won’t affect the outcome or no one will ever know you did it.

In the past 24 hrs:

Elizabeth Warren holds Bloomberg accountable.
Judge Amy Berman Jackson holds Roger Stone accountable.
Susan Rice holds Bolton accountable.

Notice the pattern.

"“That, for me, makes it even more difficult, as a former national security adviser, for me to imagine not being willing to come forward,” Rice said. “I would feel like I was shamefully violating the oath that I took to support and defend the Constitution.”

And she told that to you in front of a room full of people, not behind your back. And Boltons response was still pure bullshit.

He’s ready to drop nukes on another country but unable to testify about the content of a book he’s trying to publish. Yet another GOP chicken hawk.

“It was so partisan,” Bolton said, before adding that his testimony “would have made no difference to the ultimate outcome.”

So telling the truth is proportional to the expected yield. Just like asking when is the opportune time to publish a book versus expected revenue.

Of course it was partisan. The Repukes stand behind this POS. Democrats are patriots, the other side is not.

Not that I have much regard for Susan Rice (I’m remembering the ‘mushroom cloud’ bullish*t she spouted a few years ago) but I have to admire her grit and determination in confronting Mr. Bolton…who deserves a great deal more of this kind of treatment. As to his ‘not out here flacking’ for his book…puhleeze…that’s hardly believable.

Wasn’t it Condi RIce, of Bush / Cheney, who talked of “mushroom clouds”. Susan Rice worked for Obama.

Bolton is very brave for dropping bombs on people that cannot shoot back, but wants someone else to do the throwing just in case the victims get lucky.
