Too bad you chose instead to enable the Racist in Chief.
O M G
A “woke” Trumpian? Maybe there’s hope.
All snark aside, it’s both poignant and somewhat sad that the Surgeon General of the U.S. feels threatened as a black man. I wonder if Sen. Tim Scott feels similarly.
“And at last I (He) sees the light.”
I am surprised that they let him out. Once he pointed out that the minority community was more affected by COVID-19 than other groups, they shut him down right quick. We’ll be seeing a new Surgeon General in 3, 2, 1…
Wow, an impressive final interview in his soon-to-be-former job.
But don’t let it be a black and a white one
‘Cause they’ll slam ya down to the street top
Black police showin’ out for the white cop
I think that is exactly the point of the protests over George Floyd’s murder, it could have been any of us. That is if they can do it to a “Black man”, how long before “Black” gets dropped.
By way of analogy, not that long ago someone told me that, “it is just not important to me that Republicans are preventing Blacks from voting.” I went off on the guy and said, “you are one dumb fucking Jew-boy. If they can stop Blacks from voting, deprive them of the most basic and important right as an American to participate in choosing how and by who they are governed, how long before they come for your rights.”
The point being if police can with a depraved heart murder a Black man, you are a fool to think you or someone with your complexion may not be next.
Well, do something useful, like speaking in terms of “excess deaths” and not just confirmed covid deaths. The UK is now doing this officially (which means at least a 20% increase), while the CDC, well, is kind of provisional, due to spotty reporting.
D’yall remember when Obama made a similar statement during his Presidency?
Now, do you remember the outrage from the Right when he said that?
Surgeon General Jerome Adams shared an emotional response to the death of George Floyd
Emotional or not, it was a good thing for him to do.
We should all do as much, and more.
I don’t really have to wonder, do I?
+1. Adams is a hack, and he is just posturing for posterity as it looks more and more like Trump is going to go down flaming.
But world, remember Adams was a Trump hack when he comes asking for a job in January 2021.
Ronnie Jackson was also heard recently saying " that could have been me---- but I wouldn’t have taken 12 minutes to finish the job." Greeted by gales of hearty Southern laughter
Sounds like he’s had some issues.
“Let me get this straight . . . you DON’T want the person who has faced racial profiling by police, been pulled over dozens of times, or been speaking out for YEARS drafting this?” he tweeted.
He’s not immune to the effects of racism. How he handles it is remarkably quiet and doubtlessly ineffective. I don’t expect miracles from his effort.
I remember. My step-father, who couldn’t stand Obama, yelled at the TV the night we saw this on the news. He snapped that Obama was just making it worse by not shutting up. He then stated he wished the news would stop showing pictures of Trevon when he was 12 and looked so innocent.
Sorry - I misunderstood and thought you were referring to Rick Scott. Great Scott!!! Too many Scotts! My bad.
So…who is in the bull pen to be the Acting Surgeon General???
