“It’s sad, it’s unfortunate that some people chanted back,” another organizer, Matt Marshall, told NPR.
We’re days away from racists stating that the radical left uses a form of mind control to force these all loving and all inclusive great Americans to say, support and join in racist activities.
"(Matt) Marshall, a member of a local school board and contender for a state House seat, founded the armed group Washington Three Percent, part of a larger nationwide “three percent” anti-government movement whose adherents have shown up armed at Black Lives Matter protests in recent weeks.
Also Mr. Marshall, a few months ago, doxed people who reported business violators during lockdown leading to death threats to many of those who reported so…F’ him. He deserves this.
“It’s sad, it’s unfortunate that some people chanted back,” and then when they begin to ‘feel’ like they are being made fun of ‘QUICK HIDE IT’S ANTIFA!’ Give me a break. Other than the College, this is Trump Country. BIG time. They ‘fashion’ themselves as ‘libertarians’ but it’s closer to John Birch. Please.
“sushi eaters, what’re we gonna do? Inject them with the Wuhan flu.”
There were also Wuhan flu/Saudi verses—joyously sung along to by the crowd—about Obama, Fauci and Chinese people. Maybe the best one (in terms of utter mockery of their stupidity): “Chinese people, what we gonna do? Nuke ‘em up like in World War II.”
I hear ya, @kovie. Thing is, I do know at least a few people who are genuinely nice human beings - or would be except for their support of trump. They somehow find excuses for the evil shit he does - and I don’t understand how they do that. How does one excuse stealing babies for spite? I was at my bother-in-law’s when a neighbor stopped by with new racist videos he found on the interwebs. It was his house. His guests. We left to avoid making a scene.
I think for some, politics is a tribal thing they learn at home. Like religion. And racism. It transcends common sense and makes them believe things that are not true. For those who pay little attention to actual issues, it’s not much more than an us-against-them football game.
I am going to strongly disagree here. The friends I know who are Trump supporters are, like all the others, generous, thoughtful, caring, responsible members of the local (small town New England) community. They are great parents and grandparents. I am at a loss to understand their commitment to Trump. One thing they share is less travel & less liberal arts formal education. One constant is the theme of sticking it to the establishment. That said, they are great friends.
For those mislead by Fox, I’m willing to help intervene and deprogram them. But there is a fraction of their membership that love being deplorable even if they hate being described as such.
Take a step or two back and see them for who and what they really are. I’m sure that there were a lot of really nice, sweet, pure as snow Hitler supporters too.
They’re horrible people and fascists who only pretend to be nice. You’re too close to the situation to see it clearly, and are enabling them by not doing the literally only right thing possible, which is to ostracize them. You CANNOT be a good person and a Trump supporter, unless you’re a total imbecile. Are they?
And all too many here fall for it. The problem with many liberals is that they actually believe that most people are basically good and can be redeemed, which is such bullshit. Most people look out for themselves and follow the herd, and are a mix of good and bad. I’m not a cynic here. I’m a realist. A good person is someone who does the right thing when it’s called for, doesn’t do the wrong thing when it’s in their best interest, and isn’t merely “nice”.
A third of the population is basically good, a third basically bad, and a third a mix of the two, going one way or the other depending on the situation. But, being good only when there’s no cost, or when there’s something to be gained, is not being genuinely good.
