The Supreme Court Monday put on hold a lower court ruling that would have forced Alabama to redraw its congressional maps that disenfranchised Black voters.

Well now, those fine cannibals at SCOTUS are not even pretending to foster a just nation anymore.

Now we’re just a nation.

And they never tried very hard to pretend to begin with.

They’re not political hacks. No…

Odd… That’s not how my teachers coached me “eliminate” was spelled in the spelling bee.

Only because they want to ensure that racial biases can never be used as a challenge to a districting map ever again.

So, in essence, they just need a little more time to tweak the language.

Every day, people go to jail for petty crimes and other acts born of desperation, even as these people openly practice legalistic violence on their fellow earth inhabitants from a position of supreme privilege and get paid handsomely for it. Deplorable.

I commented on this a week or so ago. This is not surprising. The Dems were playing with a bit of house money because they will already have over 230 districts won by Biden in '20 for the new congressional map.

What this ridiculous stay by the SCOTUS shows is that there is no law passed by a left leaning gov’t and affirmed by prior courts that they will abide. They have already condemned thousands to their deaths with their intellectually dishonest rejection of COVID controls and vax mandates. They will whack Roe and the VRA in this term. All we can hope for is that in their zeal, they make a mistake which backfires on them without their knowledge. A recent example of such a mistake are their rulings on partisan gerrymandering cases. They left it to the states, thinking the GOP would have the advantage. Well, the Dems have played by those rules and look to be winning that battle. We can only hope at this stage, but what Dems should really take away from this lawlessness is that reform must be a top priority. Stop listening to the Neal Katyal’s of the world and push hard for court reform. Win the 2022 elections, get a Manchinema proof majority and pass voting rights, DC/PR statehood and immigration reform. Add a court reform bill to dilute the SCOTUS so they can’t overturn any of these measures. This SCOTUS views itself as the last line of the defense in the culture war to maintain and preserve conservative white supremacy. They are on their last legs but still hold important levers of power to extend their control. We must wipe them out from power. Go win the 2022 election and enact a reform agenda to rank with the 60s.

The USSC said that gerrymandering is not their concern until it means minorities will have more equal representation. Then it comes into their wheelhouse.

It was a 5-4 decision. Chief Justice John Roberts joined with the liberals in dissent.

Just watch them knock down NY state’s own gerrymandering, because reasons (i.e. it favors Dems).

Well someone’s got to keep the field hands down and he was chosen to be it.

This supremely corrupted court is following the lead of the fascist cult by proudly putting their racism on display for the world to see. Since 3 of them were installed in their seats by the fascistic, racist, supreme loser himself I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.

Past time to expand the court before they can complete their mission of enshrining a white supremacist oligarchy as our new and improved system of governance ( a case could be made it’s not actually new, but it’s definitely blatant now, and the phrase ‘all men are created equal’ is laughable in their eyes).

Some moron in WaPo comments is still blaming Notorious. No, you :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:. You all were warned.
I have such contempt for these people. Never their fault.

And Roberts can certainly do this and look like he’s not partisan. 6-3 made it oh so easy.
