Supreme Court Gives Early Thumbs Up To Trump’s Theft Of Congress’ Power

The Supreme Court on Tuesday froze a lower court judge’s decision ordering that foreign aid money already approved by Congress be spent. The ominous move may signal a coming embrace of the Trump administration’s radical “theory” that a president can choose to withhold appropriated funding. That gambit, called a pocket rescission, would let the president…

I don’t have any confidence that there are any guardrails left standing in the way of a full authoritarian takeover.

It no longer matters what the voters think. When the First Felon wants our opinion, he’ll give it to us.

The US is now a nation with only one law - IOKIYAR. Nothing else matters.

This Supreme Court is going to allow Trump to steal next years election as well. This country is not going to get fixed by peaceful means, its going to be a full scale dictatorship with plenty of blood in the streets.

On the shadow docket, again.
Without explanation, again.
Deferring to Trump, again.
Overruling lower courts, again.
Certainly 6 to 3, again.

This court regards the rest of the judiciary, and us, with contempt.

The Supreme Court is no longer guided by law, only an agenda.

Somehow it is the height of tyranny for Joe Biden to cancel student loans, but Donald Trump can cancel whatever the hell he wants.

Our institutions have completely failed and there is no longer even a veneer of legitimacy.

Do we still think it’ll matter if we take back the House and Senate?

Would be great if we could charge them with holding us in contempt.

The House is the only real possibility, and MAGA is doing their gerrymandering damnedest to make this less likely. The Senate is pretty much red by design at this point.

We need to find like 300,000 people to move to wyoming and 300,000 to move to Montana so we can flip them. LOL

Compare to how they freaked out over Clinton trying to establish a line item veto.

KKKristofascism is not only here…it’s sinking its claws deeper every minute of every day.

Removing it is not going to be possible without significant self-debridement.

I know the courts won’t/can’t save us, but do they have to collaborate with TFG? And so gleefully?

“We’ll get to this in our own sweet time, but have at it in the mean time.”

Couldn’t most of these shadow docket orders be characterized that way?

My biggest confusion in all of this now, and to more immediate concerns, why did the Democratic congressional coalition drop “no participation in the budget appropriations process” for the upcoming fiscal budget bills? Why did they acquiesce to just “restoring Medicaid” from the last reconciliation bill? Once again, this smells too much like a Schumer decision which will backfire. Not only does he need to go but this watered down “make or break” budget compromise is absolute weakness and sure to guarantee passage of everything else budget-wise that will contribute to the further annhilation of this country.

As those young Bernie supporters fired back when confronted with the SCOTUS stakes if trump won, “You can’t extort my vote with SCOTUS fears”. It’s much worse than we could have imagined then and we will all live with the consequences for the rest of our lives.

I’m begging the Dem leadership to please start laying the ground work for impeaching some of these “justices.” It can’t be any clearer that Congress has the constitutional power of the purse. If they can’t get the simplest ruling correct, they need to go. I’m not going to say it’s an easy case to make given our collective IQ, but my god. Rule of law is meaningless if we can’t agree on simple shit like this. What’s next, bombing boats in international waters because we want to?

Talk about devotion to textual originalism.

Checks? Balances? Branches? What the hell are those?
