Funny, not funny, how the media isn’t talking anymore about Marines stationed in LA for that ‘non-riot’ ordered posting on US soil. Funny, not funny how it runs afoul of the Posse Comitatus Act, and how anyone is unwilling to go there anymore in the slightest.
And now that SCOTUS has once again revealed itself to be the red-hatted assholes that they are, shamelessly giving away the game to support the indefensible acts of a madman and full-blown fascist, who is willing to decimate our Constitution by crossing out due process without any rational explanation we are all entitled to hear in terms of how they arrived at that nonsensical conclusion…
What will they do next to enable such lawlessness? I can only imagine since they don’t seem to owe anyone any explanations anymore as to their rulings. Its all bunk. Pure bunk and bullshit.
If for nothing else, this “administration” will be known as the one that loosed a bunch of goons to roam our country unimpeded, masked and anonymous to terrorize the population. Every damn Republican who voted for this criminal is responsible for the darkest (so far) period ever in this Country.
I’m sure they’re getting paid – and that they’ve been paid before being put on the court, on the condition that they would rule in this kind of way.
But I do wonder how many of them actually are also ideologically on board not just with unitary executive but with unitary-executive-dialed-up-to-full-on-dictator/autocrat.
Alito, Thomas and Roberts are old enough to have long records of supporting at least unitary-executive stuff dating from decades ago when they were at the bottom of the legal ladder and Leonard Leo hadn’t yet come on the scene as a full-on lifetime bankroller of people who as judges would rule for-the-right, for-the-right, for-the-right…So I feel as if those three, or at least Alito and Roberts, must not just be part of the paid-to-do-it-group but also some level of lifetime true believers in right-wing autocracy…
.But it’s hard for me to understand why and how highly educated people who decided young to study law would be supporters of having all a nation’s power to one person or even one group. I would think they’d value their own thinking and their own autonomy too much to want to hand off all decision making, especially when they see the kind of idiot we’ve handed it off to on this go-round…
I mean, you don’t have to be an autocracy supporter to find sugar daddies who’ll pay you for your rulings. So I don’t think the expectation of big money can fully account for the embrace of that ideology. It seems that has to be some additional motivation, some reasoning or at least some strong character traits, or something additional that gets them to that position.
I wonder if I’m the only one here who finds your frequent posts condescending and annoying?
How would you feel if someone from Sweden or Austria posted constantly with analysis and advice about Canada?
