Supreme Court Abets Trump’s Defiance of Court Orders

If Dems retake Congress in the midterms there will surely be hell to pay, a grand reckoning!

Yep, there will be. It’ll happen. :joy:

No, I suspect what’s involved here is the AutoTEXT, which has slipped out of Donnie’s control and into the hands of his unscrupulous staff.
Congress should really be looking into this and Dear Leader’s acuity.

Stupid Biden Administration didn’t have the good sense to build concentration camps in swamps.

I suspect it will be in no small part because too much of the original structure will have been destroyed.

As long as they’re pedophiles, they’re probably ok.

Sorry, a bit bitter here.

Nobody has due process rights or actually 4th, 5th and 6th Amendment rights anymore. Think about it. If “immigrants” don’t have these rights, neither do citizens.

Fencing would be a problem, but house arrest in some great plains town an hour from the interstate has a certain appeal. He’d be surrounded by his biggest fans -people he despises because they are low-class rubes- and a world away from the manhattan society whose approval he has always craved.

The Founders could never have envisioned anyone who is so completely lawless, unAmerican and stupid to be “elected” to any office in this Country. they were “gentlemen” who were educated and who had standards that they wrongly assumed were universally held by any one who would choose to stand for office.
They never thought the riff-raff would someday take over politics and bring with them the lack of conscience, morals or ethics that the Founders thought would be forever contained in that class. Our Constitution is out of date and based on a fallacy that men in public life possess a conscience. It is time to rebuild the whole thing based on the fact that the riff-raff are in charge and make rules to keep them and their worst impulses in check.

Last night I had the rare privilege of hearing and seeing Mavis Staples again. I first saw the Staple Singers about 50 years ago so this was pretty special. She still has a burning fire in her. I cried when she sang this one. It has the even more meaning now.

It’s a solution; but, I’m afraid that, by the end of this administration, the consensus will be, “The farmers have suffered enough.”

Fair enough, just chuck him in Leavenworth, then

No pun intended, but it’s a thorny issue.

The issue spotlights the enduring tension between religious freedom and the state’s duty to protect children from abuse.

Both sides have valid interests. Yes, the state considers itself back-up parent and can compel citizens to snitch. The Catholic tradition has affirmed the sacrosanct nature of the confessional.

It’s true the government can require doctors to report signs of abuse. But obligating priests to report …? …the confession of a distressed person whose face the priest did not see as reason enough for the government to drive on over to his house and snatch all kids and “speedily” determine who best to hand them to? That requires a lot of trust in a government of masked men who take without asking.

The sacrosanct promise of confidentiality means leaving the government out of it. There’s a valid reason government should stay the hell out of that tradition. The confessional is not judgment. It’s not evidence. It is the individual demonstration of a purposeful intent on the part of a sinner to “get right with God”.

My considered and most humble opinion is, having witnessed presidents since Truman, that we are most definately in the drain. The circling part is over.

That is what MAGA thought they were voting for. Unfortunately, the only candidate promising to do it was this grifter that we are stuck with. Democrats need a True reformer who can reconstruct with some integrity and intelligence.

You are correct, slavery was common throughout the world when our nation was founded. As was denying women suffrage. As was stealing land and property from those they encountered when exploring new lands, along with killing them. So their standards were shared by many others.
Yeah, they had standards. But we have to understand, they were a product of their times. Sort of like the Nazis.
