President Donald Trump’s announcement late Thursday that he had been diagnosed with COVID-19 has left in its wake a mess that could have been avoided if the President and his staff had followed appropriate protocol.

Truly gobsmacking disregard for the welfare of others. But then we’ve come to expect no more, or less, maybe, from these people.
In point of fact, Trump ridiculed mask-wearing, during the Debate, deriding Biden with a ridiculous, making-fun example of him wearing one.
Followed by Biden with a plea for mask-wearing to save lives.
(1) Biden did not follow Trump with rage
(2) Biden did not try to “get a laugh”, like Trump did, preferring the more useful and less spectacular response.

And not just from the NJ donors! Has Sheldon Adelson written his check yet? There was word he was planning a last minute cash infusion that Trump desperately needs, since he’s running behind Biden in campaign cash.
This may be the most significant effect on the race, even if Trump is back on his feet in two weeks. Major donors aren’t likely to write checks for a candidate who may not be viable on election day, and two weeks from now a lot of the votes will already be mailed in. I can’t see the major donors being excited enough about Pence to fund him as an alternate.
The poor fellow has health insurance. He is in court, right now, trying to remove insurance from millions of us. Even if he dies he won’t be any more broke than he is now.

The question is whether they’d place a money bet on Pence being able to win the election. Especially with the current polling showing Biden with a significant lead.
